I went back and left again:P
I just resubbed. I started as a Black Orc. Got to 36 and got bored with how long it took to level.
I just came back now as a Dwarf Slayer and homg am I having fun.
I resubbed and rolled a DOK and it has been fun. Seems they have fixed alot of things but as well all know there is still work to do.
well, I played on Euro. Had big hopes for this game as I love warhammer tabletop and paper & dice.
But pop on Euro was pure shite. A dead world...don't care for the lame excuses, totally fricken dead. I hardly see the freebies as an endorsement that things are now swinging and all is now hunkedory.
Nonetheless, hope my gaming brothers and sisters in the US have a better situation with this game.
Cheers
Melmoth
p.s. hope to be proved wrong
p.p.s means I haven't come back...yet.
There are two current Euro servers that run high/high everytime I log in. Don't know if that helps you any, but I know theyre there.
warhammer online is dying in europe went on to it last week and all the servers where empty bar 4 it is a shame really thay could have done more to this game but why do it when you have world of warcraft they should look at some of the strategy warhammer games out there for better ideas it is to much like world of warcraft,..,.,.,.
After three days, sadly no.
Sadly, because I really enjoyed WAR, and was hoping to see it reach its potential. I didnt go into the trial with many expectations. My guild was gone, but I expected that. A bunch of my toons were transfered around and renamed, but thats fine too.
My main is a Squig Herder, so I was happy to see the many changes to my class, namely damage increase, insta-summon pets after dismount, insta-cast squig armor, and others. I was also happy to see the new "rally" button up near the mini-map.
The other thing I noticed right away, was a "welcome back" quest that popped up right after logging in, and gave me something to do right away. Unfortuantely, I could not progress very far into the w/b quest as the required npc to speak with simply was not there. After making sure that I simply did not miss the npc somewhere, I put in an appeal, and decided to hop into some pvp and test out my new abilities.
Thought scenario's would be the fastest action to get into, and joined queues for every one I could. Next I headed out to hit some quests while waiting for a scenario to pop.
After three days of questing solo, no scenario ever popped, no random pvp ever happened, but the missing npc was finally added. The rally button blinked a few times, and although I desperately clicked it like a starving madman, nothing happened.
My server (Ironclaw) used to be the second largest server, and usually packed full, but now is dead. I tried to get a server transfer to the only australian med population server, but my main is too high in rank for transfers.
Things dont look good for WAR in australia. Also, I noticed considerable lag. Did they move the oceanic servers to NA?
i got my e-mail to come back to the WAR yesterday. I decided to stay away from the 10 day trial as it will do nothing to turn my decision about this game around. Keep your WAR. I'll build my own clubhouse.
Too much of the core game is just irritating. Narrow scope in content, land mass, skill sets. Healers not getting to be part of the combat as they promised, but rather relegated to heal bots in the back lines, even the DoK / WP end up going back line in the upper levels. I hate the rock/paper/sissors scheme more than anything else. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing you have no chance against most classes other than your "target" nemesis. 50% of the classes are nothing but fodder for the rest. At least they nerfed the truly over powered class that is the Witch Elf, but my Arch Mage and Engineer could hardly tell the difference. They're squshy but get to murder people, I'm squishy and all I get to do is support everyone else's fun.
I left a few days after patch 1.2 because it didn't do nearly enough nor did it fix many of it's critical flaws. I find most of the classes to be so specialized, that they end up being quite boring. Too much crowd control on classes that shouldn't have it when they already have too many advantages. People die far too quickly, you hardly have time to even react, let alone use tactics, is this an MMO or a freaking FPS? Just like they did in DAoC, they made run speed way too slow to give the appearance of a large world when all it does is piss the hell out of you that it takes 15 minutes to run 600 yards.
How do they go from decent RvR in DAoC that has some meaning and is actually fun, to the tripe they have now in WAR? I'll never figure that one out. I'm done with these old school, grindy, forced grouping / raiding type games. This game is set up to only work well with raid sized warbands in RvR, but you know what, a lot of us just don't like running around with 40 jerkwads in order to get anything done.
I don't care anymore if this game lives or dies, I'm just patiently waiting for The Old Republic to release and I will never look back at these old school (read: second job) MMOs ever again.
With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal
The wife and I both resubscribed and have been enjoying the game a lot again. I think the biggest improvement was the recent server mergers. Finally when I log in as a lower level character the zones are not completely empty. A lot of their improvements that have been made are really nice and the game plays much better than at launch. So far I'm enjoying my time back, no intention to cancel at this point.
I voted no...
Try Karak Norn as all Destro and Order guilds from Karak Hirn went there .I think this server will be very busy as Hirn was quite active in RvR
In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals...
Loving WAR and still playing it, but when i hit level 40, get the cool gadgets, that's it. I don't want to play the same game again with another class. I won't delete the game, i will wait for more content.
WAR lacks that thing that keeps you glued to the screen for hours. No housing, no guild halls, no serious crafting. Seamless world i don't mind in this game so much as zones are pretty big and fun. But the gameplay is just questing, RvR, SCs, PQs and then again the same without any downtime for doing something else.
However, once you get sucked in the action, these issues are pushed aside and for 15 minutes of a scenario or 2< hours of RvR you're having FUN.
Sure the Game is relly Great worth to play if you asking me but , right now alote of Server issues and preformance stuff that need to be fixed and buggs and Exploits .. but most People dont like to w8 for improvement they shouldent play mmorpg ,
but for us that are waiting for the better time we see the potential and we are sending feed backs , bugreports etc so the game can improve faster .
Honestly the game isn't really buggy at all, it's pretty smooth.
I do agree with the above though, this game needs content, theres just not a ton of stuff to do after you level a toon to 40, etc. This is to be expected with any new game but really this one has the most potential providing everything continues to get added correctly.
For those not familiar with Mythic, watch the ride. These next few upcoming patches are going to be massive and I would expect them to stay massive like DAoC's initial releases. Nothing but good things coming WAR's way.
The ranged dps and tank classes must be having a ball, for the rest of us... Not so much.
You will be disappointed with any Star Wars MMO because the Star Wars franchise is lame to begin with. Everyone saw the first three movies and loved it, but if you look hard, there isn't much there to work with. It's a shallow story. There is no great MMO savior coming soon to replace everything and beat WoW.
I'm only going to address the WP comment, about "not being able to pvp and has to heal in the back line" comment. This is entirely false, as a grace specced WP, no, you cannot run head on into 48 of the opposing team and expect to live. You have to treat yourself like any other melee dps (i.e., not a tank). You don't want to get surrounded, you can't take a beating like a tank, and you have to realize the best way to heal this way is to select yourself and heal everyone within your proximity. This means, go with the melee dps swarm, swing batta-batta-swing at everything and anything along with the zerge, proxy healing the dps in the process. Very simple, very easy, very fun.
Ive come back and started afresh and am enjoying the fact that order even win some scenarios now
Game seems a lot more polished in general and seems to be more fun but as im only tier2 at the mo ill see how it pans out ...
I resubed, play on euro its not dead always 2 full warbands for orvr and scenarios pop all the time, i been playing on karak eight peaks and karak norn and have never seen the deadness you are taking about.
Im playing on karak norn and have seen loads of ppl around warbands/pq and open rvr...

I watched all six movies... but back on topic, I am still undecided... I'm having trouble finding a game I like so I'm thinking of comming back again.
Uhm, most people wait until those buggs are fixed before spending so much time in a game, I don't see the problem with that.
Sure, the biggest fans don't mind helping with issues that should have been fixed in the beta but I don't see why I should play the game while I wait for improvements when I can play something else and come back in a year or so when they finally fixed everything.
Besides, where are those 4 citys that was supposed to be almost finnished but lacking some pollish before launch? When the game is finnished I play it.
my problem with war is that the zones are just boring looking. a few trees, hills and a road in every zone..seen one area you have seen them all. The world design is very bad. If the wanted to copy wow they should of looked at the variety of landscapes that blizzard used.
The more I play the game the more I'am convinced the game just a piece of garbage that isn't worth playing even if it was f2p.
