AOC,WAR,AION?

RenoakuRenoaku Member EpicPosts: 3,157

I dont know why, but every time I tried AOC at like 3-5 month later after unsubscribing from it at launch, It just felt too much like world of warcraft, But worse. The armor's on the avatar's Dont look realistic, or as good as in world of warcraft, They look like they were un professionaly Designed. The spells, and skill's Dont give me any realism feelings, and for sure the same talent concept that world of warcraft uses. To me it looks in my view as this game kinda is blowing ass, as World OF Warcraft has a lot more work put into it than Age OF Conan does. Its whole armor system needs re design, new armors, that dont look all the same, and ugly.

WarHammer, It sucked I heard their population is down by 75%, And was just a copy of world of warcraft in the first place, Except the character model's were made by a  19 year old just taking A Colledge course in Computer Graphics Design, as the characters to me in high mode look less realistic than world of warcraft.

Aion, To me this game even though NC soft has been a failure in 2 games, seems a lot more promising than any of these games except World OF Warcraft.

What do you guys think about AOC, do they really need new armors, does warhammer need new Character designs and higher definitioned graphics.

Oh yeah, and I dont like hearing excuses, it was because They didn't have the founds to do this, Because There is no excuse, just like with Darkfall, a failure in my eyes.

Releasing an uncomplete game = Failure and loss of profits compared to Spending the money to do it right the first time, and then releasing it.

AOC (If you're over 17 and like a lot of blood with head decaps.), if not over 17 or you don't like a lot blood, then go for Warhammer. As for AION its not out yet, here in the US. Its gonna be a long wait too, cause it will be out in Korea first.

When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!

Aion already came out in Korea and has been a huge success. You won't find many complaints about it, now. It's coming out later this year in the U.S. and Europe, Q4.

Age of Conan is a gorgeous game, although not my cup of tea currently.

Warhammer is a really good game, it's not a copy of WoW, and the character models are alot better than Warcrafts. It could use more client-side graphic enhancement options, but overall its pretty good looking.

End of story don't even bother trying. WOW is the best the rest suck. I play WoW. WoW is the most realistic game there is.

It's already been out in Korea for a number of months.

Fall 2009 is the estimated release date according to NCsoft.

I don't know what you've been smoking... but even though WAR's content doesn't show explicit boobies or gore... its not exactly a game for kiddies. If you actually pay attention to the text and/or the detail of your surroundings--- its pretty mature in content.

Agreed. The Warhammer world is a pretty dark and mature place. It will definitely be interesting to see what direction they go in as they pump out the new content.

I like age of conan a lot, Because of the Gore, And Blood, But it does need some major Changes, New Amor Sets, New effects and Direct X 10 Before I will play it again, How About Customizable armor sets every 10 levels in the game you can actually choose yourself, apply your stats ect. ?

Interesting the OP seems to equate realistic with exiting and extreme.

Armors in AoC is actually so realistic looking that they are basically boring. And its a break from most Hyborian artwork where realism is not a big issue. The item update they are working on is moot if they dont also give people the ability to look unique and diverse (and no class sets is not making people diverse).

WaR toon graphics is for some classes exiting and well made and for others not only terrible and boring but also full of blatant graphical errors. Just try to make a female white lion, equip your 2h axe and then look at your toon from the side. . . .

Generally speaking the grahpic designers used all their energy on destruction and then made order bland and boring, ignoring most of the background visual material for the order archetypes created over the past 3-4 decades.

The Swordmaster supreme ward armor set made me laugh.

That said i wish there was more in terms of armor sets rather than linear progression granted with so many classes it is not easy task to design all the sets.

AoC has been getting more armor pushed into it, but is though not rich on ubercool armorsets at the lower levels. You have to work to get the cool looking armor in AoC, just like in WoW (pre bc). Asking for customizable armor sets every 10 levels would be cool, but when there are 12 classes and 80 levels, the number of armorsets that Funcom would have to make would be slightly unrealistic to say the least.

I do not agree at all by that the armor made in AoC is unrealistic and poorly made. You using WoW as an example as to how armor should be realistic makes me laugh. How are those UFO shoulderplates doing btw? Getting bigger and filled with more lights no doubt.

I dig AoC armor sets.  WoW sets look really outlandish.  They look cool, but AOCs fit the game perfectly.

I would definetly say wait for Aion. Aion actually looks pretty decent..which is hard for me to say for an mmorpg considering the kind of garbs we've had lately.

Claiming that AoC armour looks unrealistic compared to the plastic/helium look of the neon armour in wow is just plain wrong.

There's nothing wrong with prefering a more cartoonish look, but realistic it is not.

Where is the cool looking armor of  WoW? for all i can see all look alike, besides the hood with glowing eyes. Show me some pics to prove that theres a difference on how it looks with lvl progression.
