Well, apparently it can take 2 weeks to get level 60.. but I assume that is for a person(well at least 2 people) that plays 24 hours a day, and is very famaliar with the game(ie. been to level 60 already).
For the someone who plays about 3-4 hours a day, I think it would take about 3-4 months.
So, yes, the grind is "short", but if the game is "easy" is another debate.

I think it is pretty easy to level if you really want to grind through them. However there is so much land to explore and quests to attempt that it slows a person down. It seems to depend on how a person whats to play. If they are for the whole character development then it will take a while, you'll get lots of faction with different places and more quest items. This is how I like to play. Alternativly my friend goes out and kills everything he can then moves on to the next area, he takes all the quests he can when he reaches a new place and only completes them if he encounters the goals in his destrution. He is two levels ahead of me. So sure it can be considered "easy" but it all depends on how you play.
Most likely lvl 60 wont be the cap and the max lvl will be increased as new expansions and the world event (i.e the dark portal) is opened up.
Im guessing max lvl to be lvl 100 or 150. They havent even introduced the hero Classes yet. For all we know They could be the Time sink you are after.
I mean prob have to get to lvl 80 or something to start a hero. Maybe you go back to lvl 1 as that hero clas... who knows?
Basically dont jusdge the game yet till its released ..... and then play it... and when you get bored then say it was too easy :P.
Theres gonna be other things to do other than lvl and grind. The honourable PVP and Dishonourable PVP system i love :P. And reputation etc. Also guilds and raids. Did i mention the world portal thingy?
So ya plenty of stuff gonna be happening :P.

I was able to make lvl 10 in 6 hours and then lvl 14 in 2 days. it took a week and a half to make 22. and at 2 weeks i made 25. Of course i have not played nearly as much as I would like about 3-4 hrs a day total in 2 hour blocks and then maybe 8 hours in one sitting once a week. My gaming time gets taken up by my GF, Son & taking care of my sick Mom. So I'd say YES it is a bit easier to easy I think not. I just think Blizz wants to open the door for more people to have more than one prime toon. [IE hay cool my toons been lvl 60 for a month time to get a new char and play with him...] instead of 1 toon prime and a dozen craft bunnie toons.

well my little brother got to level 5 very fast< he is 11 years old> all he did was fight none stop. this is his first mmorpg game hehe. he is loveing his little gemone<forgot how to spell it hehe> well going back to my pally.
The game should not be about getting to highest level as fast as possible. Take your time, explore, try out options and trust me this game becomes more than a grindfest. Hell I went raiding with a level 8 instead of killing bats. Even though a lvl 15 bear owned me it was still fun
The max cap will probly be high, like 150 or somthing. Also,I now recoginize what blizzard might be doing.Maybe there making a high cap, easier grind, and encouraging ppl to have more than 1 character since a player can have up to 50 characters.....

Level 40(out of 60) with a /played of 5 days on my first run through of the game. But, I don't mind in the slightest. A game shouldn't have such a terrible grind to the top if PvP will be a major activity.
I think I can agree that the gameplay and difficulty in reaching the top IS very easy, but Blizzard compensates by adding in extra content that will appeal to people who want to do more, or feel more challenged. Instances carry a threshold of difficulty that will wipe out any group that can't play very well. Until that same group can just outlevel the instance and "brute force" it, but what is the point then?
And that wouldn't happen for max level instances anyway, so most of the "hardcore" content will always be locked away from the reach of "sucky" players. And that isn't something raid groups can't remedy either due to their restrictions.
the fact that the level grind isn't absolutely brutal in wow is great for those of us who work long hours, go out on the weekends and generally do more then sitting around playing computer games with every free second of time
i applaud wow being slightly easier then, say, daoc when it comes to the brutal leveling grind

Well, I was getting bored with my 16 Gnome Rogue so I wandered over to Ratchet/Barrens and wanted to get into some PvP. I think I'm stuck there unless no one is logged on and can't see me as I get back on the boat. I was dissapointed by the fact I was stealthed standing behind a Tauren Hunter and was unable to attack him. Who's idea was it to have to wait for the enemy to attack you before you can level him? Hmph.
Sorry, back to topic, easy to level? There's worse. And there are some games that are nearly impossible. I come from Lineage ][ and damn, is this leveling system so much better. It's like driving a Yugo for two months then hopping in a GNX. Since I'm kinda stuck in Horde land (I knew the first part was significant for some reason), I started a NE Priest. I played for about 5 hours and am level 7 I think. I see that there is more running than killing as opposed to a rogue. I like it though. Then when I get bored of this I'll make a Dwarf Hunter. World of Warcraft easy? If you want it to be. World of Warcraft fun? Hell yea.
Yea, I got an hour to kill before my next class . Sorry if I was babbling, I need to find a way to get WoW installed on one of the library's computers.

ok. the only thing im upset about is the fact that lvl is the soul purpose of some people ive spent about 10 hours and i have a lvl 8 undead warrior....y it took me this long is because i spent about halfof that time blacksmithing. imto lvl 68 in blacksmithing 87 in mining. i like the profesions but i wish u could also get a little XP off of it.
ive also got a lvl 12 undead rogue which i got bored of because i cant find a good dagger. this only took me about 8 hours because im a skinner and to get that up u also end up lvling.
This game is very easy. I play it when I am tired of EQ2 handing my @ss back to me.
I think that was the whole intent though. This game is very relaxing and mellow for me. ...which most games should be. Playing EQ2, everyone I am grouped with is crying their eyes out from being half a level in debt and they are all stressed out and what have you. Games aren't supposed to be stressful. They are supposed to be fun.
Even though I think that WoW is easy, I am still having fun playing it. However, I personally enjoy more of a challenge I guess. Either that or I like watching other people suffer tremendously for their stupidity by getting eons in debt.

Game is sorta easy until you hit the far later levels, then it goes from easy to extremely difficult in some cases. Look at everyone trying at onyxia, these are groups of level 60s who have spent months getting the best gear available at the time, and are getting wiped pretty consistently. Though once someone figures out the right tactic, it won't be as hard.
Well, now that I think about it more,id rather have it like this than DAoC.I mean,in DAoC the cap was 50,but getting there was extremly hard.Actually, getting past the damn slump of lvls 10-15 was hard as hell, and that s not good at that low of a lvl!

I've been playing for about 5-8 hours a day for about a week and am only lvl 13...
I guess thats jsut because priests solo badly, and I always wander off to collect herbs or fish and I do every quest I come by.

Here's the scoop:
WoW is as easy or as hard as you want it to be.
If you want challenging quests ..................... DO THE CHALLENGING QUESTS.
If you want challenging instances ................ DO THEM.
If you want a challenging raid............ You get the picture.
