It's up to us the players to market this game.

Gamers in general are starving for a good PVP/RVR MMO. Us veterans are also realizing that newer no longer means better. I've tried nearly every game on the market and i find most them a waste of my 50 bucks when an old game like DAOC offers everything i want in a PVP/RVR MMO. No game on the market can compete. Mythics new baby WAR is not even half as good as DAOC. What DAOC needs is a population revival. This game has alot of life left in it. I'm really surprised they haven't offered a welcome back free month to all previous account holders like EQ2 did awhile back.

The graphics though aged  are very good. Combat mechanics are better then any game released in the past 3-4 years. Combat animations are superior. When you block a blow in DAOC with a shield you block all damage from that attack.  One thing i'm sure alot of gamers would have a hard time adjusting to is you have to use your head. You can't cast with somebody beating on you so you have to keep your distance. You know common sense things. The game is rock solid stable. It's not gear driven on Classic servers and TOA is more for the PVE crowd but has some heavy hitter PVP guilds as well.

When recommending games this one personally is on my top to try list for those that have never played it. If your into PVP. You know i  always wished a game would be released that had alot of what DAOC had to offer. This was my biggest let down of WAR. It's NOTHING like DAOC. It's WoWish. Huge mistake by Mark Jacobs and EA/Mythic as they basically showed there true fanbase to the door tbh. So yeah this game i still a great game.  More players would make it even better. I don't see Origins releasing now or anytime soon but the game is still excellant. Give it a try . Have some fun killing other realm opponents and find out just what you've been missing out on.

I've had an active sub since release, except for about a year.  I came back like 7 months ago.  I always keep my sub up for those times when I want to play some real pvp.  There's just no game that even comes close.  I've been around the MMO market, and there are only 2 games that I ever liked almost as much as my time in DAoC and that's FFXI and EQ.  Those are both mainly PvE games, so I always kept my sub for DAoC for PvP.  I still have my sub active, and play AoC and Atlantica Online when things in the frontiers die down or my guild isn't raiding somewhere.  It's a classic game, and has been, probably always will be, my number 1 MMO.

Both of you said it correctly.

With all these new MMORPG's hitting the market, they may all be new graphics, flashy animatins and promise lots, but it still takes a old mmo like DAoC to make the rest of the new mmorpgs look kiddish and you dont need all that eye candy (my opinion of course).

I would be flashing my -Avatar- with a DAoC symbol, but I have high hopes on FE being my next addictive game and will give DAoC free advertisement sometime in the near future with my avatar once again.

    Anyways..

The only games I have interest now are the oldies but goodies, because apparently the new mmorpgs seem flat, plastic and just the same ole, same ole. I was going to re-sub in WAR, but going to wait when I here its worth coming back too.

I may not pick the mainstream games anymore for my enjoyment, but I still love the classics!
