I just can't find a game I like...

All have good points and bad points...

I enjoyed WoW for many years, the combat animations are great, I enjoy the playing the classes, I like the way they do the crafting and the choices for different crafts but most of tehm are meaningless end game so whats the point. The graphics are OK, but very dated and when you've played other games you realise how crappy they are. And the worst of it each patch and expansion is basically more of the same.

I tried EQ2 at launch but my PC was fairly crappy then, now I have a newer PC I tried the trial recently just to see if has improved. The class choice is good and the graphics are pretty good but I just don't like the combat and the way the characters move. The crafting is a bit irritating having to press buttons during the crafting process.

WAR has the best PvP, but there was a lack of Open RvR when I played, just the scenrios. I had to quit though because the PvE side lacked depth and the crafting was, well, non-existant.

LotRO has great graphics and quests, but figuring out where you have to go is a pain in the a$$. That may improve after the next patch. The crafting is great and the items you make are meaningful. I just have trouble picking the right class, there seems to be something lacking from all of them.

Maybe I just don't know what I want... or maybe the dev's just don't produce games that I like to play. Hopefully 2009 may bring something new, but probably not...

And isn't it annoying when computer games try to make you use a keyboard and/or mouse to play, rather than just going AFK?  </sarcasm>

What's the point of a crafting system that doesn't make you actually do anything to craft items?  That could be taken as the very definition of something stupid to grind levels in.

Sounds like you need to take a break from the genre and play something more engaging like a shooter, RTS, or a real RPG. Heck, go read a book, pick up a new sport. It's what I did when I realized that all MMO's are essentially the same time sink spun several different ways, whether it be medieval or futuristic.

Remember, it has to be fun to be a game. Grinding is a bedroom activity, and the point is definitely not to do my wife as fast as possible.

Well you listed what you didnt like about those games, how about starting what it was you did like.

Make a lick of the aspects that are most important to you

Then head to the MMORPG Finder to get a list

    Good luck

Haha seriously dude if you actually dont like a crafting system that is just a TAD more in depth than others (aka clicking two buttons and everything is done for you in a second) and you actually dont like having to find things in lotro than its either wow or nothing for you. WoW was the first MMORPG to adapt the extremeley solo friendly every gameplay aspect dumbed down approach and its still the best at it, so stick with it.

Honestly you should stick around the forums some more and read about the first generation MMOs and read peoples stories about what made them so great, maybe then youll want to stray away from wow style MMOs altogether and look for something with some more depth.

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.
