Help looking for a new game.

AlewisAlewis Member Posts: 51

Hey guys, I'm wondering if you can help me, I'm searching for a game to play kind of like World of Warcraft, I'll write below what games I have tried, but before that let me explain what type of game i'm looking for...

I don't want a game where you raise your character and your pets, Kind of like Atlantica, I don't like that type of game.

I don't want a game that solely based on grouping, I like to solo sometimes, Getting some stuff done for myself.

I want a game like World of Warcraft, I like the crafting system there, I like the way you can group or solo quests, And you don't have to wait around for a party like on Final fantasy XI.

Games i've tried are:

World of Warcraft

Lord of the Rings

Runes of Magic

Final Fantasy XI

Age of Conan

Dark age of Camelot

Everquest's

Guildwars

Lineage 2

Runescape

Vanguard

Warhammer

Hope this list will narrow down some suggestions for you to help me with.

Hope you can help, Sorry for my english :D

Looks like you've tried most of the best MMO's. I use 'best' loosely of course. Two that I've liked that are possible to solo in, that aren't on your list are: Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) and City of Heroes/Villains (CoH/CoV). I believe that both of them offer 7 day free trials, but I'm not sure.

I guess I'm not the only one that feels like an MMO player without an MMO to play.....

If you like any Final Fantasy games try Atlantica Online.

First time I played, I quit after 5 minutes.  After hating every damn MMO that came out the next few months.  I was really waiting for Runes of Magic which i didnt end up liking.

I went back to Atlantica Online, and I absolutly love it!  I found you have to give them game a try, and finish the tutorial.  You have to give the game to level 20 when you finally start to build up a good sized formation.

    Its F2P.

You really dont have to group.  There are scrolls which will let you "tame" another group of monsters to fight with you for X amount of time.  This helps eliminate grouping.  I have probably grouped twice in the whole 60 levels!

    Graphics are good.

    Gameplay is great.

Quests keep you moving through your levels.  Im 60 now and have not hit a slow spot.

I've tried Atlantica Online, I really did not like it. I don't like those type of games, I like to raise my character not my character and pet's if you know what I mean.

All mmorpgs are going to have half of the game that you don't like and the other half that you do enjoy sometimes even like enough to stick with it and suck it up when it gets to those boring bits. At least that is the deal for me. I would suggest you pick one of the games you liked the most. Suck it up, play the parts you enjoy and let those be a motivator for finishing the parts you dont.

I dont know many people who play an mmorpg and love everything about it. I hate the worthless pointless travel times it takes to get some where ur first time in FFXI. but I do it anyways. Because I love group partying, and doing Nyzul.
