ThePreventerThePreventer Member Posts: 92

Hello Everyone, im Curious of the Benefits you get from the retail box from upgrading from the 21 day trial? Has Anyone tried this yet? I am pondering on whether to start a 21 day trial i got and then upgrade or just buy the retail box and only get 60 days of playtime.

Thanks in Advance.

well you get to play on after the trial lol, but yea I seen someone ask about this, it will just add 60 days gametime to your account and some other exclusive things like a shuttle with a little more space than normal and a few other things, you can just add it to trial or your existing account.

Read the box at a webite or at atari,

     Well here is a list

Players redeeming the code to activate a new account will also receive these special in-game items:

INSTANT WAR ACCESS: This certificate allows rapid access to organized combat (through increased standings), helping new players get into the action quickly.

EXCLUSIVE CAREER GUIDE: Accessed via the website to allow for dynamic updates, the guide includes insider tips and tricks.

VIP PASS: Use this card to invite a friend to try the game for 21 days. When that friend becomes an EVE Online subscriber, you will get an additional 30 days of free game time.

EXCLUSIVE IN-GAME SHIP: An exclusive new ship, the Interbus Shuttle, will allow players to fly in style with an increased capacity cargo hold to ferry those extra crucial items at high speeds.

Also if you do not want to play for 60 days you can sell 30 days of gametime for ingame cash.

From what I understand, it's a tradeoff.  If you use the 21 day trial you get 21 more free days :)  But you lose all of the things mentioned above.

I'm still debating and have 9 days left on my trial.  The other thing I have to consider is that my character was made before the expansion, which means ( I think) I have better attribute allocations than the game will allow now, and I started with a lot of extra skills that my new character would have to find and buy (including all the Learning skills).

Keep in mind if you use a retail box GTC on an existing trail account you do not get the items.  Those are only for a account created from nothing by using the GTC.

If you don't mind the lack of box items, then using a 60 box gtc to activate an account should work fine for you.
