For me it's a 4-4.5. I don't get enough to worry about. I run a P4 2.4 with 1 meg RAM and a GForce4 4200ti with 64 megs. And I seem to be on the most crowdwd server in the history of online gaming ... Mistmoore.
The lag is odd tho. It doesn't seem to be a problem for the vast majority of people I talk to, but then I've talked to a couple people with better systems than me who have a lot of lag, and then people with lesser systems who run just fine. Don't know what the key factor is.

Lag rating is about 4.5 to 5. When in crowded city areas I may lag a tiny bit when I have graphics on Very High. I simply turn them down to High and I am fine.
When out in Antonica or other instance zones, I rarely ever lag at all unless there is a large battle and the spell effects and stuff are all going off. Again, I would turn down the settings a bit.
Otherwise, at Very High setting, I run smoothly and it looks awesome. I bought my PC just for Everquest II and I am not disappointed at all.
Also, for those people who say the Ato Radeon X800 XT is not the card to buy, I would say that it's perfect for Everquest II. I never have any problems, it can automatically overclock according to demands of the game, and it keeps cool and runs smooth. That is not to say the nvidia 6800 isn't still the best, but you get a great card with Ati's newest X800 XT
HHmmm... I'd have to rate it atleast a 4.5 if not a 5, there is a bit of lag, sure, but it gets major bonus points for the flexibility. I play on 2 different computers, here's my specs and settings:
AMD XP 1800+ 1gb pc2700 ram nVidia Ti 4200 (128mb) 40gb 7200rpm HDD Cable Internet
On the first setting I play on "Extreme Graphics" with little to no lag. The second system I run on "Extreme Performance" with no lag whatsoever. Granted, the game looks completely different from one monitor to the next, but it's nice that it's playable on such wide range of systems.

I get some rather nasty lag when im inside of the city and really busy / small areas like the Down Below. But turning down my graphics settings tends to help that alot
P4 1.6ghz 768Ram (crappy Rambus ram too *gag* can't wait for the new parts to come in*) Nvidia Geforce 6800

I was having some graphical trouble with my old FX5200, artifacting, some lag, and I pretty much had to keep it to high performance. Man what a difference with this card. Everything up to high with some effects tweaked to very high. 4.5 lag on your scale.
If you are running an FX5200 and can afford it, jump to the 9800 (I think the 6800's are having problems). You havent seen this game until you have a decent card.
Congrats to myself, i am now lag free.I can run the graphics settings most on medium and some like textures on high. All i did was upgrade from 512 RAM to 768, and wow what a difference.Cant wait until i get 1 more stick of 512 or even 1 gig.So yea, if you are having lag and only have 512, dont complain at all.I also have a nvidia 5200 which is a piece of crap but the extra RAM let me turn the settings up until i can almost clall it beautiful.
I play on the Oggok server (based in USA), i live in the UK and i suffer with virtually no lag, so 5.
Downtime for maintainence/patches is a b*tch though. Probably just teething problems since its new. God forbid they take the servers down when the Yanks are awake

Good to hear...glad lag doesnt' seem to be an issue. My game still hasn't gotten to me yet does seem to be an issue.
But that is my retarded friends fault for not mailing it to me.
