I though you could not import the game. Becouse of problems with payment, atleast i think blizzerd will not let people do it, becouse a lot of europese poeple will import the game and lag the us servers (see open beta). Also when a lot of poeple are going to do that then it will be silent on the euro servers

What is this bullcrap. Reminds me the days of Quake when a HPB (high ping bastard) entered a LPB (low ping bastard) server and 5 minutes later when some lag happened, he gets kicked instantly. After he is kicked, the lag is still there, because it wasn't actually him. It's like those morons who think if you shave your beard will grow back thicker and faster.

So what, Europe players request more packets and receive more packets then US players? Oh they SEND more do they? A player from Europe or even South Afrika is NOT going to lag the stupid servers. BLIZZARD is going to cause problems due to no open open beta and their (obviously) lack of experience. If I see ONE person complain that at launch, the servers are lagging due to someone from Europe, I will rip their heart out and shove it in their mouth.

I like whem everyonw blames us Europeans for their own incompetence. We are actually buying these games paying more and playing less and much much later. LoL

you need an american billing address....

So that kinda makes it difficult seeing as how the cc needs to be linked to it ^ ^

BAN ALL EUROS FROM AMERICAN WOW!!!

I fully support a legally binding agreement that says you must live in the region where you play. That way WoW can file a lawsuit against all you euros and thus america takes over the world.

    YAY FOR CAPITALISM!

Nevertheless, we do recognize that players from different regions will want to play together. Unfortunately, because of the current realities regarding local billing requirements, privacy of information across international boundaries, and the aforementioned issues with connection quality between regions, we will be unable to offer cross-regional services at the time of the North America/Korea launch. However, for those players who still wish to play on servers outside of their region, we will look into providing a specific solution that addresses their concerns after launch.

    Gamecards for the win eh?

Ye you could get the game imported to you, Im nearly sure you will be able to play with gamecards.

Ive never had any latency issues. My ping is about 170ms and the lagmeter is all green...

theres another reason why I wont be playing WoW other than Blizzards silly pointless attitude about forcing localized servers.

They started out french, but since they became a big company (and are in the gaming industry) they are practically american now. Why do business in america? Cuz thats where the money is. ::::28:: Therefore they would side with us. Yay for capitalism ^^

Keyword is after launch(on the forum it was even hinted only after euro launch even which defeats the purpose IMHO).If you buy a copy from USA u will need to do some tweaking with your CC address and pray it works as it did for shadowbane.

But like i said the day i mess with my CC details just for a game is day i should pack in playing mmorpg.

All the excuses given are total bull many mmorpg have launched same time as europe ie asheron's call 2,horizons ,planetside and most recently EQ2 and had no issues at all which was not seen ny our NA counterparts(meaning nothing to do with connection).

There is no ping problem whatsoever.I played emerald server on planetside for a while and never gone beyond 150ms and thats a MMOFPS  not even a mmorpg.

Good luck importing, you won't be a able to play unless you know about proxy avoidance...

Where won't be any IP blocking, so messing wiith proxies is not needed. Blizzard has already said that military personal and people working overseas can play on us servers just fine, all you need is us billing address.

That's biased, they willl not check the IP's as they stated you could be living anywhere as long as you got an american billing address because you could well be staying like say in Europe temporarily.

Well tell us how it goes .

Importing is the easy part(i originally order from ww.dvdboxoffice.com  and cancelled when i found out about the CC).Messing with your CC address and hoping it works is the tricky part.

The tricky portion lies solely in the billing. If you can get thru that then you are home as long as your account is in good standing and not questioned. But i hardly think that will be an issue as long as you can pass the billing address section.

I personally think it is a shame that Blizzard is discouraging the european players from playing on the North American servers.  European players are usually the most prevalent players on the games I play, at the times I am able to play them.  Generally speaking, the European players seem friendlier, less prone to talk "smack", and more helpful in game.  Who knows, maybe Blizzard will recend this policy. image
