Bored with MMO's??

is it me? or has almost everyone gotten bored with MMO's?
Seems like every post is about how they want a new game, or bored with the game they have been playing.
Maybe its just the collective MMO community waiting for the next big game, or.....is it just that time to move on?

I was on the verge of taking a looooong break from mmorpgs, but decided to resub to DAOC and check it out one last time. I'm glad I did. I'm hooked again and having a blast.
Currently Playing: DAOC Uthgard
Previously Played: UO, DAOC, Shadowbane, AC2, SWG, Horizons, COX, WOW, EQ2, LOTRO, AOC, WAR, Vanguard, Rift, SWTOR, ESO, GW2.
i cant play an mmo for more than half an hour before switching it off..i remember playing all nighters back in the good old days of swg, now mmo's are way too shallow and the people playing them annoy me.

If you want to find the people who are bored with MMO's look here... (and how many active members does this forum really have?)
If you want to find those who are not... log into an MMO....
I think you'll find that the 11 million playing WoW, plus the smaller populations of all the other active MMO's slightly outnumber the bored folks here on MMORPG.com

I am so ENDLESSLY bored with all the existing MMos. The good ones I played for years and its enough, or its enough with a concept I have seen often enough by now. My hope lies mainly with SWTOR now.

Lets see. In WoW there are a Tone of Bots, here at MMORPG i think every 250th Char has an ALT lol so you do the math J/K.
I'm just waiting for my dream mmo and its called Oblivion online! If they will ever make one.

i used to love mmo;s. i started with silk road. i liked it because it had style and purpose. you would trade and earn money defeade bad guys. but with all the bots and grinding it go really boring and not fun to play. then i played eve online for a long time and i getting back to that game every time. i even played the expansion but its all the same. and that game just takes up too much time. I waiting for a good no fantasy mmo. I had it with all the grin fest. the new star wars moo or star gate mmo is what i need.
I played SWG till they screwed it all up. Then played WOW for just over two years. Haven't really played one for a long period since then. I played LOTRO for three months, that was the longest. Beta tested several also. I'm just waiting for SWTOR. If it's half as good as they are saying it will be, then I might be on there for a few years, at least. If it sucks, then I'll probably be done with MMO's, period.
Still having fun with CoV - and it's just getting better. Player made instances / story arcs coming in about a month.

It is the natural order of things that people who like computer games will, from time to time, quit one game and go play another. One cannot generically go play some other game at that level of abstraction; one can only go play some particular other game. If one wishes to find a good other game to play, it helps to read up on various games and perhaps ask questions. Is that such a bad thing?

Forums are for people who, when not playing MMOs anymore, can go to them and tell everyone about how they hate all MMOs and whatnot. On forums it always seems like everyone is bored of MMOs, because the ones who aren't are playing them and not sitting on forums.

EVE Online., mining numbness.
Lord of The Rings.. christ.
Back at wow, enjoying the PVP and some RP now and again for shits and giggles. But that's it.
With so many good MMOs how could anyone be bored.
Considering MMOs are ment to be played for years and not months.
Some great games out there like EVE, Ryzom, WoW, WAR, Lotro, EQ2, CoX, GW and many more.
Even certain F2p games like PWI, Requiem, RoM and Atlantica are really good.
I don't understand how someone wouldn't have fun with atleast one of these games.
MMOs arent intended to be played for a month, you wont see hundreds of them releasing every year (not good ones anyway).
If you're bored with whats out there come back in five years.

Been playing MMORPGs for over 17 years and I'm still not bored...I get my fix from AoC, DAoC, and Atlantica Online. AoC is awesome
DAoC is great, and close-knit community. Atlantica Online is something different, and it's pretty fun to have a challenge too.
Is Oblivion not Bethesda?.They announced a couple months ago a MMO and some guy from a gaming site misquoted some ridiculous cost to build the game.
The MMO division is Zeni max,but i dont think you will get a Oblivion type game as the guy running the show is former DAOC guy,so you can bet you will get a DAOC type game.They will however be using i would bet Oblivion as the template for the game,they have no rights to Mythic property,at least not that i know of.

Just out of curiosity what MMO has been around for 17 years?? UO came out in 97..... Meridian 59 came out in late 96.......I dont know of another MMO that was around before those 2.......
YOu have 17,493 hours on DAoC. Thats 728 days. That is insane.
