Risk your life is an excellent choice if you dont wanna spend money, and waste a little time on a Rpg. but then again, its nothing spectacular, and is extremely buggy.

Give Rubies Of Eventide a try it is free. If you want there is also an option to donate money but you don't have to.

I'm agreeing with Speedmann on that one. I tried Rubies of Eventide and its not a terrible game. Main problems though, are finding an actual time when your server is up and working. Graphics are pretty damn nice for a free game. I'd give Rubies a try too.

I can think of a few more. Theirs runescape which is very witches and wizards and Knights. Its free but you can pay and get more. The graphics arent that good but there OK. Also there is Adventure Quest which is free but only 2-D but the graphics r spot on. Have a look at them both
Runescape is at www.runescape.com and AQ is at www.battleon.com

Yeah, Rubies is great, but has a lot of issues with zone loading times etc., for some it works great, to others, like me, lags so much that playing just isn't possible. Main reason for the problems is that you must have a minimum of 1024mb of RAM, so I've heard.

But by all means, give it a try.

Ive never tried maple story, but Rubies is good as they say. I thought ud probably like to know that there seems not to be any more than 100 ppl on at a time though... there are lots of free games out there, but most i wouldnt even consider mmorpgs... but if u just like to kill things, Kal online is ok.

This site has a lot of free demo's to try.  Middle column, 2nd half of the page.

!Warning: lot of pop ups and ad's since this is a "free" site it does get annoying, I would make sure you have some sort of pop up blocker if you try the below link.

I think the OP is looking for a game that costs nothing to load as well, while GW you have to buy initially (but thereafter no fees).

I didn't see anyone mention Anarchy Online? It is as free as a "subscription"  type of game will ever get.

    Get it here: http://www.anarchy-online.com/free/ad_campaigns/freecampaign

Also note that this thread of from 8 months ago so the OP will likely not read this anymore.

I didn't see anyone post Knight online? It's here on the site, and it's actually ok once get past the dull graphics and sounds. Not ugly, but not spectacular in anyway.

You should give it a try. www.knight-online.com i think... else look it up under Game list on this site.

Yeah, I agree..RYL: PotE is a good choice..Don't wory 'bout the buggy thing they said, it will be ok 'coz I know that the makers are already fixing it..Well, you have to buy a retail version of this game for you to have a 1 month free gameplay & aside from that you can fill out the survey 5 times at their site..Meaning you'll have a total of 9 weeks of free gameplay..::::01::::::02::::::01::
