Ok, so what exactly happened while I was asleep O.o
The user rating of AoC went from 7.5 to 6.46 in a matter of hours!
Hax? Organized hate flood? Lol, wtf is going on?
It is preferable not to travel with a dead man.

Yeah that's odd...

It's currently show ing 1836 total registered votes. I don't see a hate flood having an impact on a weighted or non weighted average, that is if it was one single KPI being measured.
But, I do see how a small change could impact the overall score if one or more of the segments that were boderline dropped enough so that it no longer rounded up that particular segments score. That would drop the overall score as it's made up of the average for all those segments combined, and likely non weighted.
Ran it through a spreadsheet using the same values for each segment to come up with roughly the same volume and scores; and it didn't take much at all to drop the overall score by a full point, just by lowering the scores in the segments that were already low or those segments that were just below their next rounded up decimal.

The rating here is scaled and compared with other games. Look at runes of magic. It was just released and it has 9.5 score, which lowers all other games score by 1 point. The rating 6.46 or whatever does NOT represent the average value of 6.46 of all voters.

I am pretty sure it had a total amount of votes yesterday at plus 1820, was just happening to be checking it out too. It is not the first time there has been an error. When the forums were updated both were at 6 for a while. Agree with the above guy

I blame MORPG.com. Anyone have the hours of outage on the site yesterday? I think their database took a dive sometime yesterday and they had to rebuild it, thus getting the wonky up and down of the scores.

Maybe they removed all of the duplicate ip alt accounts from AoC fanboys and shills that rated the game a 10. There were quite a few of them. Same shit happened with another site poll a while back, I think it was a 'best mmo of 08' or something? Where the AoC's mods themselves were encouraging the users to cheat the system to push AoC up the charts?
WAR could still be up though because they earned the rating legitimately. It is the better game after all, and its players didn't have to cheat the ratings system to get it. AoC is a shit game and deserves to get flushed in the ratings anyway.

You are all genius with your own conspiracy theories how did that happen. IT IS THE RATING SYSTEM and a new game runes of magic caused a drop of rating of every other game. The rating is not an actual average rating of all people. Is it so hard?

Personally: Did not inspect MMORPG ratings for the last 3 months...
We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!

I have to add have you search warhammeralliance.com board for the dozens of hype this game / rate this game threads. The hype ones go back from 2006. I'd be careful what you think is right as can easily be proven wrong. Besides there is nothing wrong with the community of a particular game getting behind it for support, even if some of them have bad taste.
The game rating thing should probably roll over time weighting more recent reviews more highly then older reviews to reflect the current sentiment about the state of the game rather then weighting it down with the reviews of a year ago.

honestly, i never took mmorpg's ratings seriously and i never understood where they come from, they are kind of funky when you look at all games, same goes for xFire.
if you tell me that some game called silkroad is actually better than EvE online, WoW , WaW, LoTRO and AoC alltogether, i would be like: umm,... yeah... whatever.
UNLESS i never played any of those and im just here to troll.
and yes, it could be an error affecting all games over here, on Friday i used to get a coldfusion error when i tryied to get into this website and later on while trying to get to my mail.
