Anyone know If i will be able to play this on Satellite Internet?  How about warhammer? I'm moving and i don't know how it works with satellite, and i would hate to waste money on somthing i can't play.

Thanks!

Check out HughesNet faq sheet on transmission latency:

    www.satellitestarinternet.com/hughesnet_faq.html#16

"Latency refers to the amount of time it takes a packet of data to travel across a network. With satellite service, that data must travel up to the satellite and back (about 45,000 miles). This round trip adds about a half-second delay to the total time your computer takes to communicate with a Website or host server. Therefore, time-sensitive applications that require fractions-of-a-second user inputs (such as multi-player "twitch" games or real-time equities trading) are not recommended with HughesNet."

I don't play Darkfall anymore, but I would think you would be at a major disadvantage with a half second delay.

It will work, but like said before, you will get a base latency of somewhere between half a second and a second (500-1000ms).
And then the latency for the game sever to your provider is added to that.
You can count on every action you initiate to only start ~1 second later. For almost all multiplayer games, this is much to long.

You would be much better of with a normal old fashion phone line. If you can combine that with satelite, you would have a good setup with high bandwith trough satelite and okayish latecy trough the analog line.

As a person who has been using Hughesnet for about 2 years now, all I can say to you is this... Hughesnet  is absolutely terrible. I get around 800-1600ms while playing WoW and had to cancel my xbox live subscription because trying to play any game online is nearly impossible. They also have a strict bandwidth usage policy that they like to call their "Fair Access Policy" and if you go over your daily bandwidth limit (mine is 300 megabites a day using their Pro package) they drop down your speed to below dial-up speeds for 24+ hours.

Here is a link to their packages/prices along with their speeds.

    http://go.gethughesnet.com/plans.cfm

    HUGHESNET'S FAIR ACCESS POLICY

To ensure fair Internet access for all HughesNet® subscribers, HUGHES maintains a Fair Access Policy (FAP). This policy establishes an equitable balance in Internet access for HughesNet subscribers. Hughes assigns a download threshold to each service plan that limits the amount of data that may be downloaded during a typical day. A small percentage of subscribers who exceed this limit will experience a temporary reduction of speed.

Hughes allows unlimited downloading between the hours of 3 am and 6 am, Eastern Standard time.

    Explanation:

The Fair Access Policy is straightforward. Based on an analysis of customer usage data, Hughes has established a download threshold for each of the HughesNet service plans that is well above the typical usage rates. Subscribers who exceed that threshold will experience reduced download speeds for approximately 24 hours.

During this recovery period, the HughesNet service may still be used, but speeds will be slower. Web browsing, for example, will be significantly slower than subscribers’ normal browsing experience. Subscribers will return to normal download speeds after the recovery period as long as they minimize their bandwidth-intensive activities. If they continue these activities during this recovery period, reduced download speeds may continue beyond 24 hours.

It's not recommended you play any combat MMOG PvP or PvE with a satellite connection. There is always a delay.
