Bring peace to the world through understanding?   OK I sometimes get all philisophical so yea...this is a serious thread.   OK.   You all know how I feel about Islam.   Put that aside...I am trying to understand it...I don't but I am trying.   I am doing this by getting on the web and finding people who live in that part of the world and communicating with them.

It is amazing.   I am finding that they too are just as lost as we are for the most part.   They hate that their governments intervene in their lives and muck things up.   From chatting and corresponding with people from Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, China, Taiwan, France, England, all over the place.   I find one common factor.   Nobody really hates anyone and everyone just wishes to be left alone by big government(including over zealous corporations) and religious zealots, so that they can live their lives peacefully.

Our cultures are all beautiful in their own way and we should hold onto them, that is what makes us unique.   At the same time would should embrace other cultures and learn and try to understand their beauty and uniqueness.    In this we should be united, but at the same time we must keep our cultures as they are and let them flourish because without them we loose sight in who we are, who were were, where we came from and where we are going.

Look at the beauty of the world.  If it wasn't for our governments and religious zealots mucking things up...OMG what a "more" beautiful world this would be.

So...here is your assignment.   Find one image from around the world from another culture and post it in this thread.    Let the beauty of this worlds peoples and their cultures shine brighter than the hateful war mongering leaders that  would divide us instead of uniting us as the human race.

I'll start.

The Wonder of the World Through a Childs Eye's.     This picture is just awesome.   It says so much.

I'm probably doing it wrong but here's a few:

beautiful building in Russia apparently, the artwork just amazes me personally, very beautiful.

These are falls in China, not sure what they're called, but once again its a place I would absolutely love to see one day, given the chance.

Sanqingshan Mountains in China, another place I would love to see!

Guilin in China again, a place known for its unique and beautiful scenery.

    Mount Fuji in Japan

Yeah, I know you probably want pictures that represent more "culture" but i've always admired the scenery found in places all over the world, i'll see if I can find any good cultural pictures.

I was reminded of the Tango dance, which originated in Argentina.  I came across, however, this picture.  Buenos Aires is a port city.  The tradition of using left over paint from ships continues to this day; it is why the buildings are in different colors.

Edit:  (second image)  this is probably in the neighborhood in Buenos Aires known as La Boca.

Aside:  Buenos Aires has a very European feel to it.  Most people are actually Italian.  Real Estate prices are expected to triple within the next few years.  Some have described it as the Latin American Prague... for now.

Why some guy hasn't snapped me up.    I once was snapped up...got a divorce though.   Haven't been steady with a guy since...well there was this one guy from Australia...I was with him for like 3 months.  Didn't work out.    I have a girl friend now.   I am sorry...lol...ok wait...just wait...I am a little...fraaakkkkeddd up right now.   Typing this is not easy so I am doing it slowly.   I don't want to mess up.   So yes...I have someone right now.   She is very beautiful.   Raven black hair.   Cute smile.   Cute laugh.   She is my bestest friend too.   God I love her.  OMG my dad is not going t olike this.,  Not at all.  He is probably rolling over in his grave.    We both dance.   Work at the same place.  I dunno if that is a good thing though.   I think we see each other to much.   I am sorry I am rambling.

There is a guy, actually two guys I really like a lot.   Thomas...I really, really like Thomas...but I think it wouldn't work...he is to young.  He is so cute though.   Oh and there is this guy on this board...I will mention no names...I think it might bother him if I said who.    I like him.  I want to meet him in person.

Do you know what time it is here?  almost like 4am.

OK wait.  I am going to bed...I think.  LOL!  Ciao...

    Mr Aldrin's foot. The Moon.

When American's landed on the moon, Mr Aldrin said "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

And everyone on the planet, from every nation, religion and creed said "we've done it, we've landed on the moon".

Images of the Yezidi, who can be found in Iraq, Armenia, and the surrounding areas,  who worship an angel who was proud, rebelled against God, was cast down to Hell for 40,000 years, after which he repented and was forgiven by God. Sound familiar?

Called" Devil worshipers," by the cultures around them, they are outcasts among outcasts.

Ohoh, one of my favorites, just look at all the colors of the political rainbow.. white, off-white, antique-white, eggshell.. slightly ruddy white.. Reminds me of the picture with all the very white presidents, with the black Obama at the end, with the caption, "C-c-Combo Breaker!"
