Please close this thread and save yourself some embarrasment. No offense, but you sound like a 10 year old screaming for attention because he can't get in to DF.

Looks like he'll fit right in - perfect DF material.
They aren't selling copies right now, and haven't been for a while.
2. AV have been rolling out the game progressively - sucks if you want to buy it and can't but they are trying to ensure a decent experience for all players. A couple of weeks ago they sold more copies of the game than they could handle and queues resulted - much unhappiness. Queues are fixed now but they are making sure that all is well before they reopen sales.
3. Shame on AV wanting to sell folks a working game; they should get real sell 800k copies and then spend the next 6 months closing down servers ....
DF is still in Limited paid beta. It's not released to everyone since the Devs can't afford to release any new servers. They seem quite happy with 5k+ subs so whatever. I've decided to move on, if AV doesn't want my money what could I do?
1. There wasn't a preorder in the normal sense. 2. so... on number two... should we wait until they ban enough people and need to repopulate the server?
number 3... shame on av for selling an incredibly feature incomplete game. the game is STILL not what is advertised on the website... and, as can be seen by this thread (and others) -- non-fanatics do what a reasonable person would expect for a digital-download-only game -- they check out the website and get COMPLETELY incorrect information.
bait and switch is illegal in this country.
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

Welcome to 99.9% of mmorpgs. Actually - welcome to the world of mmorpgs. I'd like to see an mmo these days that delivers EVERYTHING they originally promised. I'm not a fanboy or anything - I bought the game but won't be resubbing - but just had to say that statement is ridiculous.

and those other games have websites that still state they're in beta and still list all those other features?
what would a REASONABLE person expect? and let's say... wow, releasing without it's battlegrounds, but pretty much everything else... you're comparing that to the 2/3rds (or more) of the listed features which didn't make it to retail for darkfall?
but what i said is ridiculous? for not being a fanboi...

Lol - look at my posts in this forum if you think I'm a fanboi. I hardly have much positive to say about the game - I wasn't even playing on buying the game but spontaneously did it because I knew I'd never be able to decide if I liked it by reading fanboy/hater reviews. But 2/3rds? That's laughable.
I wasn't aware that I was talking about the website not being updated - but I agree that it needs to be. That's pathetic but I usually got the updates from the forums. But yes - lots of websites have left un-added features up on their websites. AoC for example. I don't like it when people use the excuse - but still - it is a fairly limited staff working on the game, but they should still update their website a bit.
And WoW left a lot more than battlegrounds out at their release.

Bait and switch is illegal in America...but it also isnt what is going on here.
"A sales tactic in which a bargain-priced item is used to attract customers who are then encouraged to purchase a more expensive similar item." is the definition offered by Answers.com.
This was something thatI learned in Business Law class in High School during the 80s heh. Thought it was common knowledge...but see people misuse the term a lot.
I am not an Lawyer, but I would think what is going on here is outright FRAUD. Which would carry a lot stiffer penalty if convicted.
Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.
