With the new lowered XP to level with Book 7, how many hours on average does it take to hit 60 in LotRO now? Also, is LotRO's 50-60 leveling speed as long, shorter, or longer than WoW's 70-80? Thanks.

I have no idea. But I've played about 205 hours on my main, and he's 40th. (190 to get to 37, pre book 7, which boosted me up to level 38.8)

It's not so much that it's lowered as they evened out some of the level ranges where there wasn't quite enough content to seamlessly get you through.
the difference is not huge.

How does the leveling speed compare to WoW and/or EQ2? One thing that bothers me is the great difficulty in leveling 70-80 in WoW and EQ2; how does LotRO's 50-60 compare leveling speed wise?
I've never leveled to high levels in either WoW or EQ2.
My main game was Lineage 2 and quite frankly compared to that LOTRO is cake.
I really don't think this is a hard game to level in, regardless of how one might compare it to other games.
I'm also going to add that this game really isn't about getting to level cap. You will miss so much content if you rush to level cap or are solely focused on leveling. There is a whole story along with mini stories. Otherwise, you will get to cap and be bored out of your skull as the only thing you will be doing is working on traits and rep grinds along with a raid here or there.

None of this matters. You need to unlearn what Wow has taught you ( that the only fun parts are at the end ). The game is wider than it is tall.

I have to agree, in WoW all i did was get to the cap so that i could do things, yet in LOTRO there is soo much lore and fantasy to explore, dont rush it, take your time.
You know it is posts like this that tick me off..."Hours to Cap?" Who cares, play the game if you like it and you can play it for 1000 Hours good for you. If you play it and like it but it takes you 500Hours to get to cap who cares at least you enjoyed it. Everyone is worried about getting to Cap's in games, the point of MMORPG's is to have a game that really doesn't end. Caps I guess give people a goal to run to but if you don't stop to enjoy the scenery or smell the roses then why waste your money on it, go play COD4 time to CAP=install time. Congrats your the same as everyone else now...LOL
With 50g of cocaine, coffee and redbull, combined with 5 high level players that can blast you through quests and raids. I'd say you can - in 30-40- hours. However if you have a life it might take a few months.
I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long.
How very true, however so many of the newer MMO's out there leave all the fun stuff to do until your max lvl and ofc ppl are in an incredible hurry to get there, you can't blame them if the game is built that way.
Lotro is very different and it has so much more to offer along the journey, so many important aspects of the story to be immersed in and to enjoy, heck I used to love all the voice overs and cut scenes when I was on the book quests, I just wish more games where built this way, more story and less emphasis on lvl grinding.
the difference between lotro and wow with lvling is that u dont gain alot of exp from grinding mobs in lotro u lvl from the quests which i love about the game! i just started over again after a long break with a elf ministrel and i am having a blast!
Well, as of the start of March I had played a solid 1 month 3 days 17 hours 27 minutes and 18 seconds.
I had been 60 for a quite bit as well.
I've been playing since launch with a break in between. But above is the total time actually played.

well it took me like 13 days played to go from 1-80 in WoW. But i did alot of gathering and stuff and have been playing the game for along time. I am curious to see how lotro is to.
People say that, but it's just not true, though. For instance, latest quest I did, I had to retrieve 24 bars of gold from Goblins.
24 Goblins killed = 8000xp
Amount for turning it in = 4000 xp
And before that, I had a quest to kill 21 bears. That was 7000 xp for the bears, 6000 for turning it in.
OTOH, I also did bear hides at the same, I think that was 3000 xp.
And if you don't have rest XP, you get half the xp from kills. But I've had rest exp basically since the 2nd day I played.
