Does weapon affect the damage of magic skills?

trapezoniantrapezonian Member Posts: 124

I've noticed that my normal attack is more powerful than my Wildshot. I'm using a +5 Osiris' Rifle and my Wildshot is level 48/60. I tried hitting a rifleman monster with my wildshot and the damage is 958. when I removed my weapon and tried to hit the same monster the damage is still 958 even though I'm not wearing my weapon. My normal attack however decreased from 1.8k to 199.

So what can you guys say about my findings? I hope this will help you guys decide whether to upgrade your weapon or not because if your using characters that are dependent on skills the weapon doesn't matter much except for the bonus stat that it gives out. But based on my test the weapon didn't gave any additional damage for the magic skill.

wild shot is a joke. :) weapon damage is better than them, esp for gunner because u can upgrade ur gun at 60 wildshot damage stays the same all tru out. if its just a merc replace the gunner with cannon, inv, or janis even spear is better because of ap denial. and this days magic damage is king.

to answer ur question its no, it has nothing to do with magic dmage.

Wild shot is not a joke. Wild shot has more damage than normal attack if your attacking a character in the Free League because most characters in the Free League has more physical defense. Normal attack would be better if your fighting against a player who does not use Awakening scrolls.

If you're talking about replacing the gunner with a canonneer, it still depends. Stun statuses are easy to counter with Awakening Scrolls. The gunner is better in breaking the first line rather than the cannon, if you break that you can silence the 3rd row or Freeze the second row.

You didn't understood my post, I'm not asking a question, Im sharing my findings.
