For the people outside US...

in World of Warcraft

I'm in South America, and I **REALLY** want to play retail Wow (even if 1 Us Dolar=3 local currency). So, I'm considering doing whatever I have to do to play it ::::01::. I've played open Beta, and besides the problem with item lag (that was global, even people in US had the problem), I did pretty much Ok (green/yellow indicator most of the time).
So, I'm weighting my options. Of course, if I want to play, I want to start ASAP (best if on release day, or as close as posible to that).

The problems are basically 2:

1. Getting the box/cdkey to play
2. Monthly payments


For 1, it might be easier to just buy a box on any online shop that will deliver overseas. My only concern is timing. Anyone knows of a dealer that would open the box and just mail the CDKey? So I can start playing right away, who needs the stinky manual or pressed CDs? ::::40::

For 2, my guess is that they will check on the Credit Card forms the country where you live in. For what I know, most CC logic from the CC companies will check address against they database ( for added security), so that pretty much rules out using a fake address. Next best option would be gamecards, but I haven't seen any for sall so far (it would suck to just be left out after a month of play). And again, we have the shipping matter (I dont care about the physycal card, just the number would be nice, thank you verymuch).

Well, anyone knows of speciality shops that can deal with these matters? ::::40::

    Ive read somewhere that they will accept paypal.  As i understand,you dont need a US adress to use paypal,so maybe we can use that.

    wow, that was an easy workaround...im sure Blizzard just completely forgot that anyone could do this...or maybe not, and it wont be so easy?  so hard to tell what is more likely

    As long as you are not a korean money farmer, I don't mind if you guys play. You are probably going to have to wait for the box to be shipped. You could pay someone from the USA to buy you the game and have them send the key. I don't know. You shouldn't be playing on our servers but if you don't lag and aren't korean farmer, then welcome I guess.

    deffinitely go PayPal. BUT you'll need the box cause the edition released in Box Retail is slightly different from OB as per Blizzard  worldofwarcraft.com. Their announcment of OB close stated that the Release edition will be sightly different. Soory Dude...

    Hopefully, I should be able to patch it up (I've read before that you only needed to enter the key, not reinstall the whole thing). Otherwise, I'll try to get a torrent or something ^^.

    Problem is trying to find someone that will buy it for me and not run with the money :).
    I'll also be on the lookout for Paypal. I've seen some offers for timecards at ebay (EXPENSIVEEE!) but they are supposed to be available from November 29th.

    Well, lets wait and see. I wonder what will I do now that I dont have Wow, I've been playing like a madman for the last week (including calling in sick a couple of times at work :)

    What do you mean by different? I've ready many times Caydium saying to keep the client you currently have and best not to delete as it will work.. All it would need are patches and your new account username/pw etc.

    Yeah, I've read the same.

    Now I need to find someone trustable to buy the game and mail me the key :).
    BTW, I've seen the timecards on ebay. ETA: November 29th.

    Well, found a trustable (hopefully) ebay seller that can handle it. As soon as I get mine (heh), I'll post contact info for anyone interested. He's selling both the box and the cards, and is willing to mail the keys.
    I asked him to keep the boxes, just in case I need them...but at least if this works, I'll be saving some 30 bucks in shipping and handling :)
