WAR nailed FvF for me.

It's been a long time since I've hated a opposite faction this much.
This games FvF is so well done that I freaking hate the Order.
Thats right im a Destruction guy and I hate all of you bastard Order characters (the characters, not the RL players behind them lol).
This game has totally nailed the FvF concept for me. Everything you do in this game effects the opposite faction in a negative way its awesome.
I've become a total fan of the game, this has fueled my hatred for the Order.
I can't even create a Order player without feeling like im betraying my Faction.
I'm having so much fun in the game and the fact that the Order that I fight are actually quite skilled makes it so much better.
These players kick ass and im enjoying my battles with them.
To me Mythic has created an enjoyable pvp game, While they may never create a DAoC 2 I'm quite happy with the way WAR turned out.

Seriouly, I know what you mean though. There is real hate in game towards the opposing factions, they've done a good job.
Isn't Destruction the ez-mode side to play in this game?
Destruction /= Horde.

Pretty sure Order is being heralded as the easy side mode to be on currently after the latest series of buffs ^^

LOL! yeah Man I actually would like to thank AV for dropping the ball on DFs release since My money went toward WAR instead.
Couldn't have worked out better, AV doesn't want my Cash, Mythic is glad to have it.
As for poking DF fans, I actually feel bad for the guys. It's not easy to live up to UO and its clear that those guys are fighting a losing battle, they dont need me to poke them lol.

I agree that a game that makes you choose a side is doing a good job. There is a lot of realm loyalty in Mythic games. DAOC is still the best (Die HIBBIES!!), but war is ok.
I know it would be too much like a DAOC2...but I wish they had a 3rd faction in WAR

I see lots of Destro classes that just look cool to play, but when I tried them I just felt dirty. I felt like I was betraying my faction, so I deleted them and rerolled Order again on Dark Craag. I hope more and more people start taking pride in their realm, because right now you just see a bunch of whining about how one side is not balanced against the other, or how one side has a larger active PvP population than the other, and how people are rage quitting or rerolling to the stronger realm on their server. It's just stupid and lacks forsight. Anyone in the genre knows, especially if you know Mythic, that the balance shifts both ways and balancing is a continual process. Take SW's for example. Their the weakest class in the game, but I bet within the next year they'll become the most OPed class in the game after Mythic "balances" them.
I have absolutely no doubt that the 3rd side is coming down the pipe at some point, and the fourth for that matter. It's a no brainer that the Skaven will one day be a playable race and as they owe no allegience to either destro or order they can hardly be placed in either camp. with that in mind they will also need a counterpart to oppose them that likewise has no allegience to either side.
Glad you're enjoying it, JGM. Unfortunately, I don't get anywhere near the same feeling. To me, I rush out, I don't care who I'm fighting, I just know that I'm gonna die, take someone with me then die, or just wreck them. I could care less who I am fighting against - and since every class is so boring, and I tried hard to like the game, and played every class to try to find one that wasn't boring by level 10, it's a good thing, 'cause I switch sides constantly between servers.
What can you expect. It's made by the same people that made Dark Age of Camelot, and the factions in that game were perfect, you actually felt like you were at war with mindless killers who couldn't understand you and wouldn't try.
I think DAoC pulled it off a bit better though.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

I hope there will be a 3rd faction, but I highly doubt it. Think realistically how unbalanced the factions will be population wise. Just look at how many people reroll new classes when they are released and think about people rerolling a brand new faction. I don't think Mythic is dumb enough to pull such a stunt. If they did, it'd be the second worst MMO blunder, second only to the NGE fiasco with SWG.

Not a chance. They have enough trouble balancing stuff with just 2, throwing in a *late* third faction would completely throw any balance out of the window not to mention it would change their entire game. The whole setup is designed for a 2way tug of war, there's no easy way to toss in a 3rd realm without redesigning the whole game.
If they wanted to do it they should have done so from the beginning. And given their complaints on the efforts it took to make extra content for *3* factions in Daoc I'm pretty sure they didn't want to. It's certainly not a lore restriction, it makes more sense to have more factions in the Warhammer world than to have these 2 "alliances" exist.
i agree, a neutral third faction is whats missing in war..it would bring a whole new dynamic to the game.

when i was running my trial, people where talking about new races on the game which had me thinking. They are leaving out a few races and it could possibly be a neutral faction. Halflings (they're in all the warhammer games) lizardmen and skaven could be a neutral race (though skaven are evil but they do only look after themselves) Lizardmen hate everyone, and halflings only want whats best for themselves. But thats just me thinking, and it actually sounds like a horrible mix up when you look at it, but thats something they could throw in future dates *shrug*
