"Used" Shipping Container Homes!

Frak yea...I want one.  Seriously...check this out.  You could build a really nice place for under $55k.  That is killer.  Here is a picture of shipping containers converted to apartments!

Here is dining room area.

I'm telling you.   This could make building a home so easy and they'd be pretty much indestructible!

This is a courtyard  within another shipping container apartments complex.

Another pic showing a dining table location and a place for a kitchen on the far back wall.

Another view of what can be done with a used shipping container!

Here is a portable coffee shop.  Push a button and 60 seconds later - coffee shop!

Imagine...if city's took these used shipping containers and converted them into temp housing for the homeless!  They don't cost a lot to convert and you can stack them and arrange them to suit your needs.  Like this.   This next picture shows dormitories in Amsterdam the Keetwonen complex that houses 1000 students.   Quote - "...units that are well insulated, surprisingly quiet and comfortable.  Each resident enjoys a balcony, bathroom, kitchen, separate sleeping and studying rooms and large windows. The complex has central heating and high speed Internet, as well as dedicated bike parking."

Tell me that isn't cool!

If you found a nice piece of land and got yourself some solar panels you could easily build a house that was off the grid using "used shipping containers!"  You could paint them with some cool graphics...rearrange them in different configs to suit your needs.  OMG this is just truly awesome.

Lego housing.   Rent a crane and borrow some family member time and you can rearrange your house layout like people do with furinture.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Pretty good stuff.  You could weld them all together if you wanted to and make it pretty solid.  Making doors and window openings is as simple as getting a plasma cutter.

The problem I'm seeing is rust proofing.  Leaks will more then likely start to develop after a while.  I'm not sure how the maintenance will stack up with a traditional home.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
