I absolutley loved this game and no problems running it BUT since everyone else just left i found myself playing alone in a "MMO"
Is it worth another shot now and im not speakin of performance issues i talk of population and is there a way to test it on a old account with out paying? first

Seradon and Xeth have very healthy populations that have been on the rise for 6 or so months. The PvP server is pretty much dead from what I hear and I can't speak to Halgar.
As far as trying it out again without paying.. I'm not sure if you could to the Isle of Dawn free demo or not. But even so, if you did qualify to try the Isle of Dawn that would be the only place you could see.
I play on Seradon. I recently started over on the Isle of Dawn and the population is pretty heavy, even playing in the wee hours of the morning. The isle lasts till level 10, possibly longer but the quest lines start to dry up after that. After you leave the isle you are plopped down in an area of your choice, I'd suggest Qa riverbank. Once there, the population starts to disperse, but finding someone to play with hasn't been an issue. The LFG tool and the continent wide chat channel make for a great way to set up a group.
I won't lie however, there are times when I wanted to find someone to help me to something, and I simply couldn't but that was largely due to my straying away from the most popular areas. If your interest is peaked again, I'd suggest resubbing for a month, check out the populations. I know for a fact 30+ is pretty easy to find a group for some dungeon crawling/plat farming and the lower levels are bustling right now with the advent of the isle of dawn.
