This time I decided to see how things work non Sli.
I average 30 FPS in heavy zones and 40 FPS elsewhere. Instances bumped right up to 60 FPS like in the Slaughterhouse Cellar.
Res was a mixture between 22" 1680x1050 and also 1900x1200 28" hans-G.
( I alternate a lot with my hardware. For example the tarantia city part was on a 4870X2 stock clocks)
E8400 @ 3.83ghz
8gb 1066 DDR 2 Ram
780i mobo
1 X GTX 285 (Manually Overclocked 730/1476/2650) - Although I adjust every now and then.
BTW used latest version of FRAPS and it does take a 15 FPS hit on the AoC dx 10 client.
Is there any requests for any footage that you want to see as is? I thought about recording a whole play session but after 3hrs I had 100 GB Footage lol, plus would be no where to put it!

you should probably do a split screen to see what it looked like b4. also what music is that? I like
Good idea!!! I will try this for April's one
Thank you for the suggestion.
Music is 1st Track from the movie "the island" 2nd track is from the new Star Trek movie trailer 3rd is also from the island 4th is 'Gallifrey' from the new Doctor Who series and 5th called "in the house in a heartbeat" 28 days later movie theme track.
It looks fantastic...but I am unhappy with that hitching that happens when certain objects pass the screen. Like when you were passing trees, etc, and the screen would freeze for a moment.
I am surprised such a rig would do that.
But, as everyone keeps saying "It is only in testing" (for how much longer is my main question).
I guess I should not complain, as at least you can play in DX10. I have the annoying issues with the mouse control being broken, and certain resolutions not working. Issues that have existed for months on Test, yet still come to live.
I will stick to DX9.
Might wanna post your screen resolution as that matters a lot.
Ohh yea! this is what I was waiting for! watching now.
Being scammed by Funcom myself and turned from a 1st minute fan into an avid FC/AOC-hater, i still have to admit that visuals/graphics, art and design is something they've definately got right. Beside that and lacking too many other aspects, it is barely a shadow of an mmorpg but rather a tech demo nowadays.
It's a shame, this game could have been so much more.
You can add content/gear/zones easy. Graphics don't get upgraded to often.
WoW graphic upgrade gave us Shader 2.0 character/object shadows.
LoTRO gave us portions of Dx10
Age of Conan, Complete Dx9 and soon Full Dx10
Start with the best peice of art and you can build around it. after a while it's a monument everyone looks at.
Edit: Ok, Avery. I'm going to encode my vids to 720 unedited and let you do the work :P Amazing my friend.
Very nice stuff

Bear Grylls : (Holds a beetle in his hand) 4 times more protein then Beef
Hm. Hope you are aware of all the updates that have come with patch 1.02, 1.03 and 1.04. There should be pretty much enough content for anyone at this point. Patch 1.05 will also help though.
I entirely and utterly agree!
Thanks for reminding I updated the first post. To be honest I switch a lot. At 1900x1200 with SSAO off is around 30FPS on average.
I liked it, very well made and great music.
When you are out making the next one can you swing by the sunken statue in Kopshef Provence? You know the one I am thinking of? It is that pool of water by the crocs I think in lower SW corner of the map. I think it would be neat to see that in DX10 with the new water effects.
Great job on the video.

wow. Just saw that video. It looks amazing.

Amazing & impressive...watching Poitain in HD + DX10 makes me want to throw my PC by the window
In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals...
Great great video AA and an amazing choice of music for it.
I linked this on my twitter for more folks to see it.
Can you tell me what was the last music in the video that is used to cover the siege?
Thanks and keep posting videos like this.
Sure Abal, it was called "in the house in a hearbeat" used in the movie 28 days later as the theme tune.
Exactly. I remember that song from that movie (Awesome movies btw, 28 days and 28 weeks later) and I think it was brilliant you used that music during the siege. Thanks for letting me know the name of it so i can get in ITunes.
Great Vid.
The game really does look amazing. I am really looking forward to the final release of DX10.
Seems I will have to "upgrade" to Vista after all...
Nice vid!
You know it is not as bad as some think if at all. I have 2 PC's with Vista 64-bit on and never had an issue with either of them. I heard horror stories about drivers for things like DVD writers not working etc. All of it BS. Infact I find it faster than my previous XP incarnation. It might of been crap when it came out but I didn't have it then. I can really recommend it, although may be best to wait for Windows 7 now that seems to be coming soon. I play several DX10 games and love that version of them for it more.
I do have to say with the vid and using the latest fraps which is supposed to be better with Vista and DX10 than previous versions severly hampered recording. Even standing still it would sometimes take 20FPS off just outta the blue.

Watch your backround services. My HD activity will cause huge FPS hits.
Now if only I could figure out why my comp doesn't like the DX10 client. With an E6850 @ 3GHz, dual 8800GTS 640s and 4GB RAM you would think that on low settings I would get over 2 FPS...I can run DX9 on high all day long, but can't touch DX10 on low.

Yeah agree Vista is excellent it is the background crap that I think causes the slow down on most computers. Indexing, superfetch, UAC. I turn all that off and my hard drive stays silent. I would never go back to XP. Vista x64 is a pretty darn solid OS.
