How is WAR - EU doing now??

Hey guys,

I've been a follower of War for quite a while, tried the open beta and tested the game with the buddy keys every now and then. I've only tried playing in War US though, as I heard that GOA isn't doing that good a job in promoting War. But I've been getting 25FPS max when I play on the US servers....so I guess Latency is eating up a few Frames...I was planning on trying out War EU trial and check out the frames but....I really wanna know how the situation is right now..How is the population? Which server is good now? Has GOA improved? Has the game improved in the last 2 months???

Greatly appreciate your suggestions

    How can latency and server location affect your FPS? There is no way these two things are connected.

    Yup, latency has nothing to do with fps, but there will possibly be a bit of a delay for the outcome of attacking or accesing npc's etc. Im not sure tbh, some games are fine with the latency issue, others are worse.

    Started playing mmorpg's in 1996 and have been hooked ever since. It began with Kingdom of Drakkar, Ultima Online, Everquest, DAoC, WoW...

    Well ive recently come back on the trial and decided to resub and iits eems way better ..loads of rvr which makes the game a lot more fun ..way better than doing scenarios all the time..as for lag i get a bit on my macbook when i first get some where but nothing on my main desktop ...seems to run very well..

    yeah since they merged some server the rvr is realy nice. im now lvl 32 and i have to say that the game becomes more and more fun to me

    I don't know if it's the european servers or the game itself, but there are problems in the game still that are to me gamebreaking for a pvp game.

    One of the most important things in pvp is knowing where your enemy is and in WAR you simply can't trust what you see on your screen. Too often players are not in the same spot you are shown. Maybe it's the lag other players have, I don't know. My connection is fine, almost no lag in the game, yet can't trust what I see.

    Today after yet another series of "the enemy is too far away for my ranged attacks yet kills me with melee attacks" I uninstalled, I gave up.

    I want to love the game and for a big part I do, but things like that make the game a POS to play.

    The european servers are getting back to the med/med and high/high status they got in the beginning of WAR due to the recent server transfers. In the server I play, Burlok (RP server) the ammount of RvR has gone up quite much since 1.2 and the last server transfer. Order got around 3-5 new Guilds to the server, no idea how big, and I think Destruction got around the same ammount. Game is still a pain in the butt for Melee DPS cause of the horrible ammount of CC and stacking AoEs (RoF/PoS). But for the most part, the game is really enjoyable. I'm really enjoying my Slayer so far. R33 and can't wait to get to R40 and join in with my guild mates on the instance runs, Fortress sieges and city fights, though we get quite the few city fights cause of high resistance.

     

    But all in all, the game is doing well. Medallion system is probably going to bring some more RvR/SCs back into the game, atleast on my server, and the changes in 1.2.1 are going to make RvR even more enjoyable. (YAY for non-stacking RoF/PoS!!)

    Actually nice that you see some other players around now if you level up a new char. Seems like there been some old ppl comming back to see how the game is now also. Don't know if they will stick around tho.

    You really have this?

    I heard one other player complain in Regional about this and thought "What?! That has never happened to me". Once (in four months play) I have had an opposing player get stuck in a tree and then suddently jump about 10 feet ahead. That was a bit weird but other than that I have no problems with ranges or facing.

    Not all their servers are at the same physical location, I play Karak Eight Peaks mostly with no problems (apart from the one experience listed above).
