Well if Net Devil isn't smart enough to know their own player base we will have to take matters into our own hands. I call upon all PvP players whom wish to have a JGE PvP server to come forth and be recognized.
The proposal: We bid our time and basically take over the most populated server when the game releases and declare it the unofficial PvP server. We shall blockade any road we can, we shall take over any part of space we can, we shall rule the "instances", we shall rule the market as well. We shall undercut every single price on the auctions that we know are placed there by solo/casual miners that refuse to PvP. In an organized and efficient manor.
How will we know who is who and whos prices to under cut? Simple those who have not signed up in the forum linked below and those who do not take part in our rule set for the server.
What are the rules you may ask. Every single person on the server flags for PvP from day one. We comply with a faction specific kill rule (if this isn't all ready in effect via the game rules) that we only kill those of another race. If you are Octavius and know of an Octavius player not conforming to the rules of the server you are to tell one of the other races so that they may deal with the person. There will need to be a certain amount of cooperation between the races as the basic goal is to run off the PvE players not each other.
The goal will be to rid the server of anti PvP players. We will do every thing in our power to make the game play as difficult as possible for them. When successful on the first server perhaps if Net Devil has yet to open their eyes we will move onto another server and do the same thing. Wash and repeat until all servers have been purged of WoW kiddies and solo/casual anti PvP players whom have basically been catered to by Net Devil while we (The PvP players) have been left to twist in the wind.
ALL PvP orientated guilds please go and sign up here gamesnafu.com/smf/index.php Let us coordinate this there away from the care bear stare, less they interrupt our discussions with buckets of tears.
It will only take a small number of us to actually accomplish this goal, roughly 700-1000 players should do. I wish it didn't come to this, I wish Net Devil would just give us a PvP server but they don't want to listen perhaps if we forcibly take over a few of their servers and drive off those whom they have chosen to cater too they will wish they listened. Think of it as joining a union......that kills people who do not join it.
To take part simply type /signed in this thread and go the the forum link provided and sign your guild up for the take over.
Note to Net Devil, you can call this off any time by adding a PvP server.

Surely most of the people bemoaning this lack of 'full PvP server' (whatever that may be, most of you can't seem to decide on a definitive) are too busy being forum warriors to actually have this uber level of coordination?
There's something quite ironic about you essentially saying you're going to grief untill you get your way, as that's the main reason people would avoid a PvP server; encountering people that just can't help going out of their way to annoy others.
yes greif everybody as the fly past unflagged...

BINGO.. The biggest market out there are non PvPer's.. If Net Devil goes with PvP, or allows any form of grieving, they'll just end up with a dieing game.. They have potential to grab a HUGE chunch of PvE Sci Fi mmo fans.. to chase them away with PvP content when Star Trek and Star Wars are around the corner would be programming suicide.. IMO..
"The proposal: We bid our time and basically take over the most populated server"
Here is your first mistake. If you really want a pvp server then you should head to the LOWEST pop server not the highest pop server.
The highest pop server is a universe full of people who don't want you there, and all you will suceed in doing is ruining other peoples enjoyment and NOT achiveing your object or taking over a server. Are you crazy?
If you want your plan to work pick the lowest pop server then maybe you will stand a chance. Or are you picking the highest pop server so you can grief innocent poeple enjoying the game?? This would explain your flawed plan.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
How very selfish of you OP.
There is already a game with open PvP and it is called EVE.
Why not play that instead of going about ruining gameplay for other people just because they won't conform to what YOU want?
If I could get these emothes to work, you would see a donkey right here POOPING!
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
I can't believe you would form a group to hurt the game. I understand the need for a PVP server, as I was really looking forward to it myself, but "driving away the carebears" isn't really the answer either. If they all leave, guess what? The game is going to be dying due to lack of players.
Why not petition Netdevil for a PVP server, and be dioplmatic about it, instead of planning on ruinning other peoples time. I'm sure if you started a petition and it had tons of signatures stating people want a PVP server, they may reconsider. It is worth a shot before doing this plan. This plan will only cause problems.
Because most people decrying the lack of a PVP server aren't really looking for competitve, balanced combat, but rather are looking for victims to prey on. Any time you get a server of nothing but gankers, they tire of it quickly and leave the game.
Can't really have predators w/o prey.

Actually all we want is a PvP server and like I said if they are not smart enough to give us one we will take it.
It is people like the responders to this thread who basically paint all PvP players as "griefers" that are in the wrong. Why wouldn't you want us to have a PvP server? How does it affect you in anyway?
Like I said if net devil will not give it we will take it, the game was supposed to be a PVP game from the start but Net Devil has listened to the WoW crowd. The crowd who will abandon the game and return to WoW after the first 30 days. Those that cried and preached for it to be a care bear game will just have to deal with us pissing in their cornflakes on the most populated server as we wreak havok in with the economy and poach their mines and mobs.
And how dare you tell me to go play EvE? I ca just as easily tell you to go back to WoW or maybe YOU should wait for Star Trek Online to come out as it too will be a care bears dream space game. You are also forgetting the Jumpgate Classic players on whoms dime this game was made. They thought they would get an upgraded version of their current game. Nope they have been told to go scratch.
Look, I understand your frustration, I wanted JGE to be more than they appear to be delivering, but griefing other people who really aren't the cause of the problem just isn't the way to go IMO. I had high hopes for WAR, didn't work out that well. (no FFA PVP servers) but doesn't mean I plan to grief folks to force the issue. I just won't be playing WAR.

You know until you mentioned that I was thinking you were some jumped up kid who never even played the original...
Well I'm not for or against pvp. I loved it in UO... I liked daoc for years.
However, when someone stamps their foot and says "if the company won't give me what I want I'll go grief people.."
Well then somebody needs a timeout.
I suppose the best outcome will be that you will be quickly banned. Then if you wish to continue being a moron you can buy a new box and help out the company financially as they continue to ban you.
I'm not against the pvp server you wish to have.
I am ENTIRELY AGAINST this kind of stupidity to try and get there.
If they don't want to support you... then they have a reason.. whether you agree with it or not.
You can choose to try and get enough support for the devs to support your wishes and/or you can choose not to buy the product. What you are proposing to do is exactly what most people think pvp players are... and exactly the type of behaviour they would expect.
*edited to add*
I don't really care if you played the original.
I played SWG... I didn't go in game and grief people becaue the CU and/or NGE happened.
That is just stupid.
LOL how could or would they ban us? Its not like we can break the rules by playing the game as intended. We will just be targeting none PvP players, casuals, soloers and guilds and purposely undercut their prices in the market. We will also target them purposely and aggressively as game mechanics allow in open space.
Maybe after enough care bears cry to Net Devil they will make a PvP server and rule set to go with it. Perhaps they will see enough people like you cry BEFORE the game releases and make a PvP server from day one which is what we all expected and have been shafted on.
Who is stamping their feet now?

And then the much larger population of non-tards decides to strike back and undercut your prices. Then what? I doubt the few basement dwellers you attract on your misbegotten crusade will be able to corner anything.
Still just you.

Anyone would think all the PvP had been removed and everyone will spend all day hugging each other.
I've often wondered how many more people would be interested in a PvP server if they wouldn't have to interact with people like yourself. Because let's face it, no matter how much people want to hark back to the glory days of UO, the reality of fully open PvP servers these days is a horde of people who just can't help being jackasses, regardless of others' more noble intentions. One just has to look at Darkfall...
Still, good luck with your crusade. I'm sure if you try really hard someone might even notice now and then.
Clearly I won't be buying this game unless it has PvP enabled for everyone. I ain't ever playing on a PvE server, how boring.
First of all I am absolutely 100% pro PvP. That said I am also 100% pro common sense. Thus the OP can be summerized with one emote:
/uberfail
kthxby
I think the best solution for not getting the PVP server is to not Pay for something you dont get.
If JGE doesnt get a PVP server, I will simply not pay to play that.
My cool sig: Turrets suck.
The OP made me chuckle
First you say you will grief ppl until you get a new server, then (after replies from others) you say you will play the economy until you get a new server, then you will say you will do whatever it is you will be able to do whithin the game rules until you get a new server...
translation: "I will play the game just like anyone else, until i get my own server"
No need for thanks, just doin my job
Played: Earth'n'Beyond-WoW-EvE-EQ2-LoTRo-PotBS-CoV-Vanguard-FFXI-DDO-L2
Or how about this?
Net devil just flatout bans any and all players who go along with your "plan" and are caught griefing/annoying/harrassing other players until those of you left grow up or move on?
They'll lose a minscule amount of money banning you and your 'troops' compared to what they'll lose from the PvErs' you hate so much leaving.
Plus, your cries of failure would sing much more sweetly.
Edit: And yes, they could ban you with no problem. As you are targeting other paying players in an effort to blatantly disrupt their gameplay experience ( which i'm sure is AGAINST the rules you THINK you can maneuver around ) in order to "blackmail" or "extort" the developers.
You're even nice enough to have forums so the devs can see what's coming ( hmmm, starting to wonder if one of your members may be a dev? Hmmmm........? ).
Does anyone have an old copy of ELITE I can play?
I just wanted to play an updated version of Elite, which happens to be the forefather of Jumpgate. It was about space combat, exploying the galaxy, trading.. It wasn't about grieving others so you can get your rocks off.. I do not want open PvP all the time. If that is the way of the game, then I guess i'll just NOT pay and wait for the next sci fi game.. This is why I don't play Eve..
A pvp server would be fun
PvP servers seem to be the most popular in most MMO's these days
I was in the original Beta. It was FFA PvP (other factions only tho) but you could chase someone into their own home zone and attempt a gank until they landed. It really was not as bad as many of you people think it would have been. The community formed their own policing channels andit worked quite well.
Also, you would see many defense squads from different factions team up against a well know group of Pk'ing pirates whenever they were spotted. It was a blast actually.
Or they will just turned off PvP completely on some servers and leave the current set up as the "pvp" server.
And you tactics are just silly. You realize that the AH is a TWO-SIDED market? Please DO put up artificially lower prices. All the PvE players will BUY from you. In fact, what is preventing me from buying ALL your stock from you at a low price, then reselling at the "normal" market price? Unless you have INFINITE stock, which i highly doubt, all you would do is to put money into pocket of those you want out of the system.
And how can you affect anyone in other instances? You can affect anyone who is doing "dungeon runs" in another instance. All people need to do is NOT to invite you to their group. I don't see how you can grief anyone who does not turn on their PvP flag.
If you think you can take over a server, feel free to try. Remember that i will say "I told you so" when you fail miserably.
And so far, the forum link you provide has like 4 people in the thread .. way to go .. LOL ... yeah .. good luck finding 700-1000 people with nothing to do.
Now that is the most sensible solution.
There is already a million PvE games, why don't you go play one of those? This game was supposed to be the evolution fo Jumpgate Classic, and be aimed primarily at those players. Instead, they are crapping on those players and chasing after the WoW casuals. You are the one trying to push your gameplay on everyone else, trying to justify it because we have Eve? One fracking game out of the entire horde of casual PvE games? Please, you are the selfish one. Completely selfish. This game will go the way of Auto Assault if they continue down this path.
