Easter is an example of how gentile "christains" replaced jew festival/celebrations and defamed them in the worship of pegan gods (i.e. ishtar)
In this case easter is the corruption of the mandated jew passover (Pesach). This year Pesach is April 7 to 14 (April 6 to 15 for the fanatics), the first full moon after the vernal equinox (March 20, 2009).
When the goy (gentile) hijacked Christ's version of Judiasm they largely removed all the jew stuff and replaced that with made up "church traditions." They fabricated a nt (new testament) to replace the jew OT (Old Testament) and over the centuries nt red guards (those that insist EVERY WORD of the nt is true and accurate [like the chinese red guards used to insist about chairman Mao's red book]) have overlooked that most of the nt is anonymous and more than half of it is the dogma of saul (aka Paul) and actually misrepresent that dogma of saul as bona fide Teachings of Christ (i.e. saul was NEITHER a Prophet of G NOR a Disciple of Christ [one of the 12, actual ear and eye witness to the Teachings, public and private]).
Saul in the first century had one mission, to remove as far as possible the corruption of goy from his rabinic version of Judiasm (i.e. talmud) as he could by basically making stuff up (i.e. [Torah replaced] Law-free on saul's sayso) and trying to pass it of as his version of the Teachings of Yeshua (aka Christ). The true Disciples (Church of Jerusalem [i.e. James {Christ's brother} Peter and John]) actually sent jew missionaries after saul to instruct those desiring to know the true Teachings of Christ and tell those churches (in Turkey and Macedonia) that saul did not represent them nor valid Teachings of Christ.
Much of that has been covered up by the byzantine (greek) empire with their fabricated and cherry picked nt. The Eastern Roman Empire (byzantine Constantinople, 300 to 700AD) went out of their way to destroy all traces of other (competing) sects (i.e. Gnostics, Ebionites, Nazarenes) that followed authentic Teachings of Christ vs rcc substituting words of man and church traditions to replace all the jew stuff they could get away with. ref: Ebionite, Nazarene, and Gnostic.
But it comes down to how serious are you about your 'religion,' sort of an occasional dress-up weekend thing or serious about guidance through the actual Teachings of Christ toward Worship of G, the Father! (i.e. one does NOT worship Christ, one Worship's the One that sent Yeshua... G the Father... Commandment #1)
ps. Christ's name Yeshua (hebrew/aramaic) pronounced with an english accent is Joshua; (Yes just like the Joshua that took over from Moshe for the Hebrew invasion of Canaan.) His mother never ever called him gesus!!

There is a pagan religion called Ishtar for fertility but Easter is celebrated three days after good friday which is passover and the crucifiction of Christ which is noted by Josephus the Jewish historian and chronicler to current event in his lifetime. You may want to reread on some stuff first before blaming Gentile Christians for secretley worshipping Ishtar in place of the resurrection of Christ.

Yet, for some reason, many forget the idolatry of Yisrael's past and the resulting captivity. I read the entirety of your first post and noticed that you didn't cite anything...and then I read up to the part in your second post where you said that the New Testament was written anoynymously and was a fabrication of the Byzantine empire....I stopped reading at that point, you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
It all goes back much before the Jewish religion. It's a celebration about the spring time, it follows the moon, it's a completely pagan celebration before religion, like christmas.
