Hey, I am on the trial. i enjoy combat and could care less about pvp imblances really.
The thing i was intrested in age of conan was Rp and player housing. As of right now, after all the patches and stuff, how is it?
Can anyone have a house? or do you have to be in a guild that has a city? Can you decorate the house with many itmes, or just buy designes?
How is crafting? Does it make for a good player run economy? Or is it not important like WoW?
Is it hard to get in a guild that has a city? or is it possible to build one with a small guild?
And any info on pvp killing and the new system that makes people wanted would also be intresting. Basically anything u think about the game would be helpful, but im more intrested in no combat stuff
Comments
1. There is no player housing
2. Crafting is somewhat bah atm. You can sell it on the trader but usually its slim to nothing profitwise. This will prob begin chaning with patch 1.05(next patch a couple off months ahead(my guess)). But its nice to be able to make your own gear at some tiers and/or buffing stuff. Basicly crafting need a hard and good look from the devs.
3. Easy to get in a guild that has a city. Possible to get a city with a small guild of dedicated players(alot of resource gatering required) and whole lot of time to get to the top tiers of city.
4. Wanted- killing "grey"(low level) players will give your murderpoints; when you get enough murderpoints you will turn attack on sight for the city guards etc. There are outlawcamps you can sell and buy basic items.
Non-combat stuff to do; dunno.... i usually just whack things.
I'll be blunt, as someone who has played since beta, and still plays:
There is no player housing whatsoever. Guilds can build little walled settlements, but the buildings are largely pointless to roleplayers and pvers, because they have zero RP function beyond what you are forced to imagine in your own mind. No chairs to sit on, no intricate decorations, no thrones, nowhere to store things.. and no houses for you to live in.
As for the economy, I can only tell you about the Hyrkania, EU-RP server. It's largely non-existent. Player crafting right now is kinda pointless, and due to low population, the auction house isn't exactly drowning in interesting items. For example, I am led to believe that other more popular servers regularly see purples and large selections of blue-name items for sale, but on Hyrkania, you might see a purple item once a month. And forget those new culture items..
Also, AoC has absolutely zero tools for roleplayers. Of course, RPers always find a way, but you're basically limited to some animation emotes, your chat window, and the pretty graphics. That's it. There isn't even an /emote command.
1) allow crafters to craft some advanced recipes
2) allow guild to build PvP keep No and no. Bad, useless. No. Ya. Nope. Yes.

wack stuff, lol. that was great.
thanks for all the info.
So there isn't a limit to the about oc cities on a server? I was unter the impresion there was only 10-20 spot u could build a city, which makes everyone fight over those spots, which i though sucked because i didn't want constant pvp. So its possible for a small guild to build a small city?
And if there is no player housing, whats in the city? are there places u could RP as housing? like a barraks or inn or something? Or do you see very little role play going on. Im on the rp pvp server, not sure if that matters.
I understand there is no personal homes like in Star Wars, but is there anything you could call home in the cities?
That's the real question, isn't it? What's the point of player cities in AoC?
There is nothing in one that you could call a house, unless your character says, "My character lives in the alchemist workshop" - which is just a square tower with an npc selling alchemy resources.
Player-made towns don't even have f*cking taverns...
Oh wow, didnt see all ur post when i started writing.
Well, you guys seems to sum it all up preety well, thx alot. It's a bit sad cause i was enjoying it, but i dont think i want to play another 80 lvls of anything thats just pvp or pve. atleast not in a fanatasy setting. I think im give EvE a go. Atleast its a diffrent time frame.
Thx for all the help

Man, i am so shocked they screwed this game up so bad.
Well, on the other hand, it hasn't stopped me roleplaying or having a decent time, but yeah, gotta be honest about what the game lacks right now.
Keep, Trade Post, Temple, Library, Barracks, Thieve's Guild, Weaponsmith Workshop,
Those buidings are pretty basic and barren. At least I didn't feel those "cities" as real living city. No beggars, no hookers, no streets, no pissing contests, no housing. Only some boring buildings and lots of empty space.Armorsmith Workshop,Alchemist Workshop, Architect Workshop, Walls

Well they did recently add a few more roaming npc guards, ohh ooh! and some straw target dummies... *rolls eyes*
lol that sucks.
Does your city have to be attacked by other people, can u just keep it to urself?
And do they have the AI raids. I remeber they said AI raids could happen at times. is that still in?
Can you have 1 but not the other? i wouldnt mind ai raids. but i dont want to build a city and have it taken.
Your personal judgment, you think this is something they would expand on in the future?
Last, after lvl 20, are quest still vocie acted? i heard they wern't. i liked the questing now (im lvl 5) but after that i hear its just grinding.
when do u get mounts?
Another one; it seems you like a part of game where you can really roleplay; if you get a good RP guild this would not be a big issue I think. The areas are great and there are taverns and stuff where you can gather for some good old fashion RPing. To bad funcom have not implementet player housing(hope they will in a booster pack som that they who want it can get it)
