When I go to ride the griffon, my screen turns black and the game freezes up. It is very annoying. If anyone has a way to fix this problem, I would greatly appreciate the advice.
The EQ2 Griffon looks like its wings are on hinges. It never stops to glide or soar and its feet stay at a perfect 90 degree right angle to its body for the duration of your journey. Anyone who looks at it with a sense of wonder is either 9 years old, or just unable to accept that they just blew $50 on a stagnant money-making project.
When I first saw the video for it I assumed the designers must have have mistakenly thought they were in a stupidity contest, but don't take my word for it... Google for a video.

Because this is the EQ2 general discussion forum, not EQ2 tech support.
And I think you need to google the meaning of the word "flaming"... It means violently attacking someone personally in text, not saying something you'd rather not hear.

Sorry I was just hoping someone might know what is causing it. If I bothered anyone with this post, I apologize.
A guild mate of mine had the exact same problem. Not sure what was causing it but I could see him still in game. When he landed he looked like he was still in the sitting position on the Griffen. I told him to try hitting his hotkey for "Call to Qeynos" the second time this happend (the first, he relogged to fix). The Call to Qeynos "fixed" his issue until he rode a griffen again, but it prevented him from having to reboot.

Thanks for the information.
I really dont' have my settings maxed, I have a Geforce 6800 GT. I have 2 Gigs of RAM P4 3.6 Ghz HT
I dont' think it's my system
The actual game freezes up for me as well, then I have to reboot. I reported it as a bug, so I am hoping they will take a look at it.

Not sure why you've posted a tech-support question here. Have you tried the EQ2 tech support forums? Maybe someone found the cure.
Have you tried the usual suspects? Drivers, clean-reboots, virus and spyware scans, etc.?
You're not missing much.

Just because your family's into spanking, don't tar everyone else with the same brush.

I guess you can do a search for "griffin ride" or something of that nature.

Have you tried checking to see if your display options are set to default? Or maybe switching them to a lower setting?
Thanks for the information.
