PvP Will World of Warcraft have it. This is going to be the deciding factor in whether i get World of Warcraft or Everquest 2. This is probably a multi post, but i can't find another post on it, so I'm sory about the repetition. I want a community basis, not some lame "dude" power gamer that haunts me and takes all my stuff.

Yes, World of Warcraft will have PvP.
Open FvF on PvP servers, and completely optional PvP on "normal" servers.

Only if you play on a normal server, PvP servers have enemy and contested zones were either faction can attack the other faction at any time. Also battlegrounds will be the same with towns of each faction to defend from the other faction razing it and burning it down etc. Basically your first 20 lvls will be safe unelss you decide you want to venture out into the contested zones which are usually a small run or ride away.
I personally am very undecided about going with PvP or non-PvP server in WoW.
I generally don't like PvP in a MMORPG, but tried PvP servers exclusively during stress test2 and open beta just to get the feeling of it. For the most part I was shocked when I was actually having fun engaged in PvP battles. MOST of them were really fun when done in a large scale or even just maybe a small 5v5 fight.
The downside was, sometimes the fights were grossly one sided. Thirty or so level 20s constantly ganking one or two 15 level people gets old really fast...whether you were on the majority or minority side. Then compound that with corpse camping and that lead to some unimpressive moments.
Also, when I just wanted to solo and/or do quests with a couple of friends (for example Blackfathom Deeps, or the Furbog cave near Astranaar), sometimes a group of the enemy would be there and either kill you of they saw you, or would cause you to turn away if you saw them first. It simply didn't allow me to complete a number of relatively easy quests when I wanted to finish them.
However, some of the PvP battles were simply more fun than one person should be allowed to have
I think it will even be better when PvP rewards are implemented as I've heard.
Even on a non-PvP server you will still experience PvP encounters, it's just much more limited due to consent and specific areas like enemy towns.
So I'm still undecided and will probably not make my decision until opening day when I have to pick a server. Someone out there convince me which way to go
