I can't comment on how lively the game still is as far as server population but I will say I got the game when it first came out in NA, started at the very end of the "open beta" and played for a few months and I had a blast. Personally, I didn't have enough time to devote to it to continue to play (and I got scammed out of all my gear but that's beside the point). I was level 41 or 42 or so when I quit and I must say the higher level you get in the game (at least when I was playing) the better it got.
With all that being said it was a bit of a grind and from the sounds of it they've made the grind a bit easier and added other features to make it more player friendly so I would recommend trying it out, although, like I said before, I can't comment on the state of the game right now as I'm sure it has changed a lot. But the basics are all the same im sure and those were fun!
am playing on phoenix and it's really lively. i havn't played since 2004 and it's still doing good.
i have a lv34 warrior now and been doing 35 raids. it's really fun with a cool group of people. kama is sweet too, minus the ninja looters, but you'll have that.
i'm havin a blast. there seems to actually be a lot to do.
To OP , to get anywhere in l2 , prepare yourself for thousands hours of hardcore exp . Not to say if you plan to become a factor , in olympiads for example , prepare for dozens of thousands hours of hardcore exp + a good clan .

They have the Vit system now. Grinding isn't even that big of an issue anymore. Although it does get tough in higher lvls, as with any game.

Really?
Gee thanks. You made an account just for this? I'm flattered. Really.
I've got a minor install issue atm, I should be ingame shortly. 60 day trial should tell the tale.
Join Phoenix server.
