Which do y'all think would be fun? I played a cleric in EQ and enjoyed all of the grouping except I was always short-changed when it came to items and loot. I do like a class that is more group oriented and valuable, but, once in a while, farming is nice too.

Well if your looking for a guarantee in groups priest is defiantly the way to go... even in Open beta I was seeing countless groups looking for priests all the time, mostly for instances such as Van Cleef etc. Priests are not technically your heal only type character in WoW either so it makes soloing enjoyable as well when your not in a group setting. Warlocks could get you into groups for the fact of summoning ( but I think they changed being able to summon into started instances now, anyone correct me if I am wrong ) if that is the case warlocks won't be looked at before a priest in a group.
Both rogues and hunters are what I would call a solo'ers class, however rogues put out nice DPS and are wanted for instances for that fact. Hunters also do decent dps as well but are extremely hard to do ranged in instances.. you have to be very aware of your surroundings and positioning yourself to get into ranged range without getting your party into trouble. All and all if you are looking for a group friendly class priest is by far by far your best choice, no question about it.
Otto!
I'm looking for some friends that I lost contact with over the years...
EQ: Horlain (Firiona Vie)

I played a human priest in ST/OB and my best advice is get the best dps weapon u can...early... you can do almost as much dps with melee as a warrior or rogue can pre-20s... Also keep those insta-cast damage and self-invulnerable spells ready.. they're your best friends at low lvls...
Blizzard has outdone themselves with priests.. They really are more than spam healers... They can truly solo....
"To error is human, to error repeatedly just means you're stupid!"
"To error is human, to error repeatedly just means you're stupid!"
DPS= damage per second.... each weapon in the game will have its DPS listed on it... most likely you would want to go with a 2 handed staff to start off with and shooting wands . BTW priests get a aoe fear which is insanse

You're missing what I think is one of the best value options - Night Elf Druid. Druid's are really strong and good as a group member or soloer - one of the things the game gives you is great flexibility. A druid can be a good back-up healer or good back-up dps depending upon what the group needs, and the spell range and talent focusses available allow you to lean more one way or the other - ie. more dps in animal (bear, cat) form or improved heals.
I played most other classes and that was definitely my favourite of the Alliance options.
Sorry about the confusion... DPS (please see above)
*** IMPORTANT**
>>>> Priests own in WOW... believe it when they say they can solo..<<<<
for once Priests/clerics aren't the b**ch class that spam-heals/buffs.
I played every class to 15+ in beta and played every race...
I can honestly say I enjoyed every class and race...
Every inch of WoW screams personality and imagination...
It's like EQ devs got off the drugs and got jobs with Blizzard... then spend 3 years daydreaming about what it'd be like to play a great MMORPG...
Then actually coded a good game.... followed by actually caring what the community wants and needs....
(( inside secret... some of us sent in bug reports and comments on classes.... and Blizzard actually changed stuff.... within days.... so things where better.... they didn't nerf stuff... or take 8 months to fix stuff))
It's almost unbelievable, I know, but it's true....
"To error is human, to error repeatedly just means you're stupid!"
"To error is human, to error repeatedly just means you're stupid!"
Undead is the way to go, Humans are a very close second.

Hail to the King, baby.
I loved orc hunter, I think they made the best hunters. THey looked the coolest and were very fun to play, I never got past lvl 10 on that character. I think hunters offer alot of potential and would be fun your whole career. Healers seem to get boring quite fast for me, same thing your whole carerr except a few new spells here and there.

priest in wow are sweet... as a priest you will never ever have problems in getting a group.
Even if priest can solo with no problem, they are not the better soloers. If you want to solo more easily but still be able to group, i would say druids and paladins are great. If you want to group a lot more choose priest.. Anyway priest are not worse soloers than mages, warlocks or even rogues.
And in pvp priest kick ass. They are great.
