Moment of silence

I'm sure you've heard, unless you dont listen to national news (I did a search for this, didnt see another thread, if there is one, I just suck at life and missed it, feel free to flame me, but not the article) but 4 officers were shot today in Pittsburgh, 3 were killed:  www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30042961/

 

Now, Being an officer myself (being sworn in next week) this hits very close to home for me.  Although I am not working in a big city such as Pitt, it can happen anywhere.  All I ask is for you to remember the families of the victims of today's shootings.  I don't care if you hate cops, atleast show some respect for the people that are out there every day helping you.  This is all I ask for, I realize coming here I might get some horrible comments, I am ready to recieve them, just know that I don't care about your negativity, and would politely ask you to take it somewhere else.

 

As far as I'm concerned 3 heroes lost their lives today, please, keep their families in mind.

    I hadn't heard about this, thanks for sharing.

    My thoughts and prayers goes out to the families of those who take the risks most of us wouldn't dare. Especially folks as these who paid the ultimate price.

    Thank you very much, it's always nice to hear people on our side, sure we may give out tickets and make your life harder, but in the end we do protect you.  I just got a song sent to me that I think is very touching, and describes us very well:

    "Gangbangers" to "wanta be's" you all try to fit in,

    why do you act that way ... scared of the "pen?"

    I'm just doing my job, you wouldn't understand.

    Don't want me around till you need help, man.

    The pay isn't great, and the hours are strange,

    but I love what I do, do you feel the same?

    Saving the world is not what it's about,

    one at a time, we try to help out.

    I just want to go home, my family to see,

    try as you may, you won't take that from me.

    Maybe not today, but I will see them again.

    As I stand with Saint Peter ... and welcome them in.

     

    Thank you again for the support, although my career will be difficult I will do it to the best of my ability, not only for myself but for those I am entrusted to protect.
