Item shop?

I haven't looked much into it and figured I'd ask here. I see the whole subscription thing, but is there an item shop? I won't even bother downloading it if there is.

I haven't seen anything actually saying item shop but there was talk of "acclaim points" which sound itemshoppy.

This a P2P game. So there is no item shop. It costs 15 dollars per month after you hit lvl 7.9

As Syl says, no item shop.

Acclaim have confirmed that they are committed to the P2P model for this game.

The coins thing is just them trying to apply their existing F2P infrastructre to SB, which was obviously a mistake.

The day that they even try to put 'fluff' items for sale for RL money into this game I walk tbh, but I honestly dont think it will ever happen. Wouldnt be playing it now if I did.

Yeah, I would stop playing if they did that too.. i hate games that do that.. but because there is a subscription after 8 there shouldn't be a need to do so.

Plus, reports are that they will be adding a standard $15.00 via CC payment system soon, so you can avoid the coins entirely.

That they don't have the credit card system in place is one of the reasons why the game is still in "beta", isn't it?  They allow you to pay via Acclaim coins because the alternative would be to make it so that you can't pay at all, and hence no one could go past the free areas yet.

Very true. But keep in mind that this IS Aclaim. This coin nonsense could go on for another month or more. Look at how long it took them to get even the beta out. It launched in Europe months ago.

Keep in mind that the "coin nonesense" can reduce the subscription cost to less than $9.00/month. But hey sure, go ahead and pay $15.00/month. Acclaim will love you for your generosity.

Items play a very small role in this game anyways , so i dont see the point anyhow this game isnt free players are already paying 15$ / month for it .

adding a cash shop would simply be foolish.

Actually, I just managed to get three months free by screwing around with their coin system, so I'm not complaining at all.

A cash Shop for clothingI would be OK with. But im gana play free till the Credit card system is up.

    No.

Any kind of item mall is a slippery slope that just paves the way for more and more. If you want gear in game, go out and find/ win/ earn it.

Thats what Play to Achieve gaming is.

Pay to Achieve gaming has no place in SB thx.

I've no interest in buying their coins in bulk, as I normally go month to month for new games.  I see no point in purchasing a year or two worth of coins, for a game I may not be in after 4-6 months.

I didn't buy 'em. Just set up a bogus e-mail account at yahoo and did some of their lame surveys...got a few thousand coins that way.

I get to play for free, and their spam goes to an account that I will never check. Works for me.

  • Wharg0ulWharg0ul Member Posts: 4,183

I spent like 4 hours clicking, for a grand total of 5,600 coins. All too easy.

Actualy they have said that the CC optoin should be up with in a week or 2

IT wasnt Acclaim that kept it from coming out here for so long it was Sil that delayed, why i dont know probley to make sure the game was of good quality and most of the bugs were worked out.

How do you know it wasn't Aclaim? As I said, SiL launched in Europe months ago. and sans the IP ban would have done rather well.  It was the publishers who insisted on the IP ban, not SiL.

Nothing like an overstatement. You can but 20 bucks worth of coins or go the telephone route and by 15 exactly. Either way that is a far cry from a year or 2!!!!
