Whats your sign?

I'm Aquarius.  But sometimes I feel more like a Pisces...

I think there's something to this stuff.  If the position of the moon can influence a womans menstrual cycle, then I suppose it could effect other human biology...

Do you "believe in it"?  Does your sun sign match your personality?

I'm on the fence when it comes to horoscopes and sun signs and stuff.  I pick the newspaper up every so often to see what it might say and it's usually very generic and could apply to just about anybody.  However when you go to some of the more serious sites and read up on what it's supposed to be I can find some merrit.

The main issue I have is that supposedly (I've never confirmed this) when all of these star sign things were developed the alignment of the stars was quite different.  So what they considered a Sagittarius then is now a Capricorn... I think because of the way the calenders are made and how they changed since those old times.

Anyways back to the sign thing:

I'm a Sagittarius.  I'm supposed to have a free spirit and hate being locked up in one place too long.  I'm supposed to be spontanious and extremely fun loving extrovert and I can honestly say that only parts of the whole description are true.  Sure I like to move around a lot and I like to have fun but I wouldn't exactly call myself an extrovert.  When I read the descriptions of what my sign is supposed to reflect in my personality I can usually find that half the stuff fits like a glove and the other part is completely wrong.  Makes me wonder if they're shooting for a 50/50 chance thing where they throw a bunch of things in there and half of them stick the other don't.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

    Taurus with a Cancer rising.

With the combo of the two, I should be grounded, pretty good with money, rational, yet spiritual, imaginative and sensitive at the same time.

    Fiercely loyal, stubborn, and romantic.

That's pretty good, but it leaves a lot out, and of course is general enough, like most of these things, to apply to a lot of people.

I don't know how much of this stuff I believe in (not all that much at any rate, but I am always interested and open to possibility), but I do like playing with the ideas.

    No.  You're not.

The stars are different, have shifted, from ancient times to when you were born.

You are something else - entirely.

Our zodiac sign corresponds to the position of the sun relative to constellations as they appeared over 2200 years ago!

(Think about not very sophisticated and probably superstitious people who check their "sign" each morning, but are really checking the wrong sign).

I have always been told I am an Aquarius, but apparently according to the other chart I am an Capricorn.

Whatever they are all so general I have personality traits listed in every sign discription at one point or another.  Just like the Chinese zodiac.

I think it is the broad generalizations that allows zodiacs to "work" by making anything they say by having a high probability of applying to anyone, like tarrot.

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit

Ive heard the whole "your really the sign preceeding your sign" thing. I wonder how off it is, a week, a month?

anyways, I think the descriptions of each sign have changed over the years... astrology writers may have accomodated for the sign preceeding thing. beats me. I never read my horoscope in a 600 ad newspaper

Supposedly its off by an entire sign.  And yeah it seems logical that astrology writers would have updated the literature to the point where whatever an Aquarius was 2000 years ago, the way it is now is what matters.  Regardless of sign shift, the observed qualities of human personality traits corresponding to the position of planetary bodies need not be hindered by that shift.  It's like saying the Atlantic Ocean isn't the Atlantic Ocean anymore because erosion has adjusted the coastlines.

Apparently even with the time shift Im still a Gemini. Which considering the duality of myself and my brother, opposite twives, its no surprise. I even considered myself a twin to my brother before I even know what Astrology was. Personally I dont believe in astrology as a predictive force which I should patricipate in. Im not however saying there aren't times certain cycles have affected us. I for one never sleep on a full moon. Almost never have.

maybe you're born on the 22th or 23th, like the border of  two constellations. so you're affected by two and bear both personality. i'm a sunsigh leo, but usually i'm not as sunny or active as the usual description of leo, so i guess i also need to look into my moonsigh, or other aspects.

Something? Like what (aside from pure superstition)?

Something like how environment predictably influences the development of a human being. Like when a fetus becomes male or female based on the temperature at the time that 'decision' is made.
