How does the monthly fee work?

I was looking at the FAQ on the WoW homepage and I noticed that there were different plans, e.g. the six month plan. I was just wondering if this meant I only had to pay for six months and the rest of the time was free or what? Anyways I hope someone can fill me in here, I've asked others and they were as confused as me. Later.image

If you go get a membership at your local gym and pay for 6 months do you get to use the gym after your 6 months are up without extending your membership? No, you will have to pay for another 6 months if you wish to continue playing, only free time you get is the first month with the purchase of the game itself.

Well first off I have to say that you will be paying for this game for as long as you have it excluding the first free month.

and they have different plans because the longer the plan is the cheaper it get for say the monthly sub. is 14.99 but the 3 months: $41.97 ($13.99 per month) and 6 months: $77.94 ($12.99 per month) so you are saving money but at the gamble that you will play that long

No Sarinx...  You're right before it was only for 60 days but if you go to ebgames.com, better yet Ill give you the link (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/246160.asp) and search for WoW gamecards and the customer reviews below the card, you'll see that it was announced for 3 months...  But if you're right it's still a good deal.  and Im not sure if those reviews were 100% confirmed so that's still a possibility

I have a question too, does somebody know if you create a character it will stay forever in the server??

Am planning of playing, but there will be times when i wont be able to play for a long time...

so for example i buy wow and play for 3 months and then come back the next year, my characters will still be there??
