Most populated server on SWG?

massicksmassicks Member Posts: 46

Since I returned to the game last week my server Bria has like virtually no players any more. I'm a UK player and was wondering which server (probably euro server) has the biggest player population - anyone know?

Nova is the most populated swg server IMO.

Euro-Chimaera would be your server to choose.  It's the most populated European server.

SWG has a very small playerbase nowadays and I doubt you'd actually find a server that most gamers would consider decently populated for an MMORPG. Bria was always the highest population but it's the difference between seeing 5 or 10 people in one hour, if you're lucky. Now that they've consolidated servers it should be looking better, but really you've already checked out the highest populated server and found it to be a ghost town.

May the farce be with you young gamer!

If youre in to roleplay then Starsider is your choice. If youre into pvp then Bloodfin is where you should go.

When is the last time you played SWG? I laugh at this post because just last night I logged on for the first time in about a year and the starsider server was labeled as extremely heavy server load. Me being curious logged and I said to myself, "Damn". There were actually so many people in Mos Eisley that I started getting "choppy" and I have a pretty hefty system so that saying alot. Granted not all servers are like this but this server has quite the load on it.

I think there is a respectable amount of players that still play SWG, enough to still be a profit for Sony. You guys can flame me all you want but if Sony was losing money on this they would not keep the game up. I love swg, always will because even though it is not as unique as it was, it is still way more creative than any other game.

According to the OP he logged in and there were "virtually no players", and that was last week on Bria. But yeah if the OP rolls a char on Starsider or Chimmera I'd be interested for him to post some facts. Maybe I'm wrong and the servers are bursting at the seems just like in the old pre-cu days? According to you Obriak SWG has been gaining new players all the time for the last 2.5 years. However you fail to mention it's been bleeding old players at a faster rate for those 2.5 years too, the NGE is a mockery of what SWG was and that's why it's a ghost town. The OP has proven it by logging onto the most populated server to wake up in an I am Legend scenario!

    FACT!

We could take into consideration that the OP was European, therefore the population of even the largest server would be drastically down.

That's true but you'd then need to take into account that you don't know when he logged in, I'd like to challenge anyone to prove that any SWG server is full by posting a screenie done in the last week and BGs don't count.

By your logic they should stop selling the PS3 then since they do not make a profit from it.

Truth. I was in a group of 20 last night in Coronet Cantina. About a half-to-a-third performing, and the rest getting Mind buffed. Plus the audience healing BF or just enjoying the moment.

4 or 5 servers probably have a good population now...however that was at the expense of the transfer from servers.

Kauri used to have a ton of people no matter what time you logged on pre-NGE.  More so pre-CU.  Kauri doesn't have a people problem now though.  There are none.  Of course I am sure Badger's community rebuilding program will bring in tons of new players.

Based on my last vet trial, back in November, I'd have said Bria is the most populated server, but gosh, I dunno now.

Keep in mind that the "heavy", "moderate", "light" labels are totally arbitrary and subject to non-transparent manipulation by SOE, which cannot be trusted to accurately report the color of the sky on Naboo or Corellia.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Before the free CTS, I would say Bria was the biggest server. Starsider was picking up transfers even before the free CTS as desperate players fled their dead servers, and it seems it got the lion's share of transfers when the free CTS went live. Starsider may have more players now, but the other major servers, like Bria, Bloodfin and Chimaera have healthy, well established communities (by NGE standards).
