opinions of the trial

hi.

i just read that dev blog or whatever it is called and in it, it said post your thoughts on the trial here since to my fathoming i can't post on the official forums with a trial account.

so...

i think the game is cool and i will probably play the tial every now and then but i probably wont sub untill the dx10 works and the new items/rpg system is in since those have always been my issuses from the start for not subscribing.

My dx10 issues are: the shadows are completely screwed on dx10. when standing still they are undefined and leak out of the actual shadow area and when i walk around the shadows are on a different plane i.e. when i walk around the untire 3d plane of shadows including everything goes in a different direction so it's like i am in 2 worlds: the normal 3d world and a paralel shadow 3d world that are out of sync

and the perforemance could be better

I agree that the dx10 is not stable yet, but its still in testing. I just love playing in dx9. I dont think the subscription is that expensive so I wouldnt wait for a stable dx10 before I subbed, but thats up to you. The community is growing and the game seems to have walked through fire and raised from the ashes. We will see one million subs before TSW is launched, Im sure of it.

After patch 1.05 equipment will have more impact on the powers of each player. That will make even more hardcore ppl come back. Give it a month of subbing and see for yourself. The game is more fun after tortage if you ask me, but some ppl would disagree there..

I'm kinda intriqued to play more. I ordered a copy off of Amazon ($9.60 WITH shipping).  I plan on playing for awhile.  I'm amazed at the beauty and size of the world.  I love the feeling of awe when I'm exploring.  I've had some amazing views come up when I round some bend, or top some rise.  But that usually only lasts...until I've seen it. The GAME hasn't hooked me, it's the world to explore.

I'm not sure I understand all I'm seeing yet.  I don't know where any PvP is at (went to the border kingdoms from Aquilonia...and ran round...didn't see another player).  And yes, I'm on a PvE server, not on a Ganking Noobs for laughs server. So far the game seems like it is just a quest, quest, quest PvE game.  Which is ok, but I was hoping for a little more.  Maybe I just haven't found it yet.

Once you have explored as much as you can in a 6man group or solo, try the PvP and PvE exploring. Top knotch Sieges and PvE dungeons! BRC is very beautifull, if you played the PvP beta that loby they put you in instead of going to tortage. That is the "Loby" of BRC. and the dungeons are very nice bosses are fun. Trash isn't a pain in the booty.

Most people say that the game ends at lvl 80. I beg to differ, your destiny quest will send you allover and into the dungeons. I've been 80 for almost 2 months maby more not sure and I'm still enjoying the game. PvP is fun on Cimmeria Server. PvE is always easy to get in. Even pugs are fun and rather easy to find.

And with more lvl 80 content already on Test Live " Tarantia Commons" you will have another beautifull place to explore.

Oh and great deal on the game. Less then a months sub for 30days and the game = Teh Winnar ButtoN

This is one of the games where PVP servers are actually better and more active. I guess (game) life is no fun without any type of conflict.

I plan on resubbing soon, I have a level 80 on tyranny if you need the occasionally hand.

i think have the fun in AoC is the  thrill of open pvp. You can feel the danger even while walking down a mountain path and have to keep on your toes even while questing. Open world pvp encourages people to quest in at least groups of two so you can have some level of security while leveling, which at the same time gives people a reason to party as opposed to soloing the entire game.

Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)

No, I would agree. I love the openness (even thouigh it is instanced...but not Tortage style..and bigger than Guild Wars)...and the quests are more direct. Once you get to group dungeons, those are awesome.

I always suggest people get off Tortage before deciding if the game is a win or lose.

I have been playing for the free trial. Managed to get to level 22, still in Tortage, I always like to finish up all the areas of all the quests.

I had one hicup where my trial account expired and that text message activation code didn't work.

Gave me about 2-3 days of downtime which I'm not too worried about, I had other things to do.

Will be jumping back in later today, hopefully seeing the main land.
