But then, something went wrong. Less than three hours after SirMolle posted his thread, a spy in RKZ helped set up a 'hotdrop' on the KenZoku capital fleet as it was engaging a tower in the 9CG system. Nearly one hundred capital ships cynojumped on top of the KenZoku dreadnoughts and proceeded to exterminate them, destroying 47 and forcing SirMolle himself (who was leading the RKZ group at the time) to order his remaining pilots to log out of the game and hope that their ships were not destroyed in time - a serious no-no, in e-honor circles. The loss easily amounted to more than two dead Titans in isk value alone, and the military impact was dramatic, but the propaganda backlash was even more catastrophic. What had once been a showcase for their recent success became a 15+ page public relations disaster, instantly linked around the game as an example of out of control hubris, spawning parody threads and flatlining KenZoku morale. A thread which had once been a flag to rally around had become an icon of humiliation, within a matter of hours Kenzoku pilots went from morale-boosting chestbeating to complete silence - never a good sign in a propaganda war.

in any battle for hearts and minds, goons lose by default.
I think this article would've been good if he mentioned that this article (and everyone other article of him on that site) is propaganda too.
Heh... That article was the real propaganda. Anything posted my Mittens is a desperate grab for attention. The only reason Molle's thread could be considered a "public relations nightmare" is because the Goons spammed it into oblivion.

Mitten probably thought it would be pretty obvious to anyone reading them. Well, apparently it wasn't..
Actually, it was making up facts, trying to spin the loss of delve into "we planned it all", then claiming to be the elite, and finally suiciding a capfleet to the coalition mere hours after the post.
If you post about how your enemy is only flying t1 frigates and sucks horribly, you better not lose a battle to them shortly after. Molle made that kind of post not too long ago, only to lose two titans within a few days..
i love goon propaganda. it makes me miss how much more mmo forums, across the net, were more mature 5+ years ago compared to today. i personally stay away from caod section of the eve forums thanks to them. one thing is to trash talk every now and then, blah blah blah, its the same for any thing that involves competition. its a whole other issue acting like a goon.
LOL that whole article was nothing but spin. Yes, Molle was a fool for posting what he did and he's an egomaniac but Mittens is a moron if he thinks his 'propoganda' machine really matters to most people. Sure it sucks seeing goons post a lot of tripe on forums but generally speaking it's not what demoralizes the enemy. What demoralizes an alliances is failures of leadership not what your enemy posts about you on forums.
Goon's spy network is nasty and devastating to any alliance because it causes ops to fail or be compromised. But their 'forum foo'? LOL who cares what anyone posts on forums. It's all a load of spintastic crap anymore anyway. Anyone who pays attention to 90% of the stuff written on CAOD needs their heads examined.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
i agree with that last sentence, and it also applies to here.
edit: but ya know, there's a lot of things, like ooo molle losing titans, or that cap ship (hours after his boastful pr spin post), and quite a few other things (battle reports), that are quite on the money (or at least in the ballpark). and you certainly don't see any of that information here (at least, not without complete idiots whining ad nauseum that someone dared to post of happenings in new eden). so um, take the quoted as you would posts in caod -- with a few grains of salt.

just want to point out some things
when bob got disbanded bob said *we dont lose any assets your assets are on NPC stations*
now same bob say *we will unlock our assets and retake all back step by step*

I'm here to post for the large number of eve players that don't care about bob/ kezoku/goons etc.
We don't care!
We do., however, respect everyone else's right to care and post about these events.
