30 april PvP AoC server will be open. this will be polish/russian server and only ppl who have either version of the game will be able to participate. Poland and Russia have rich history of mutual hostility and FC decided to use this fact.
I am interested in your thoughts about this idea. This is the first such thing in history of mmo: conflict of nations.
Oh, and funcom made special items for either sides, to fire up the conflict.
The fun will definetly be awesome for both sides: more adrenaline, more satisfaction of pwning the opponent. But some people in Poland (my country) disliked this idea and said its exploiting lowest instincts.
Can any French/British say how would they feel if France vs England server was made? Would they like it? Of course i am asking every nation: imagine other nation u like the least and say if u would like to kick their butts in mmo or rather feel its dumb idea?
Playing: Rohan
Played (from best to worst): Shadowbane, Guild Wars, Shayia, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Runes of Magic, Rappelz, Archlord, Knight online, King of Kings, Kal online, Last chaos

Being libertarian, I'm all for their right to do whatever they want to make money. I think it's in bad taste, however, if they purely intended to make this server to exploit existing and/or historical hostility between peoples.
Cool!
now all they need is an America vs. France server *cackles meniacly*

Guys! I'm hopelessly lost in a mountain of mole hills! Them damn moles!
As an ukrainian, someone from the country which happens to be just inbetween Poland and Russia, and someone who considers both nations to be our brothers, I'd feel unhappy if I've seen that this event goes into a "conflict" area, not a friendly competition, as it is supposed to be.
After all, it's not a problem when our football teams meet on the field, even if one of them has to "win" in the end.
It's up to actual people to treat this event in a proper, humane way.
And I actually believe that these kind of things are completely opposite to what someone might suggest. I believe it's an opportunity for the people from the different countries to show that they respect each other and can treat each other as human beings, no matter what competition rules they are following.
I'm from Poland and i'm totally unhappy to see things like this , for sure i won't buy PL version of AoC.
Its sad to see companies must " fire-up-conflicts" betwen 2 rl nations to bring more players into it , than make games attractive as they are.
Lol, what the hell... I don't understand how friendly competition is going to "fire up conflicts"
Give me a Norway vs Sweden server anyday! If we Norwegians lose to the Swedes, it doesn't mean we like them any less
It is preferable not to travel with a dead man.
What are you doing to our hostile allies?
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
As far as i am concerned, I like the idea very much. Although I dont like dividing into 2 factions in mmo, this is far more exciting than Alliance vs Horde or Destro vs Order stuff. This is real man.
Besides, as somebody said earlier, there were plenty of games already where u kick Russians butts. And it really feels better when i login counterstrike and pwn ppl on french or german server. Really more fun than pwning my own nation, I am not sure why though lol.
The problem with mmos is too many people treat them too serious and too personally. Therefore there is small danger of xenophoby and nazi.
