My only complaint

I've been playing Darkfall for a bit now, and while it has it's ups and downs it generally does what it is advertised to do. My graphics card isn't great so sometimes it looks cell shaded, but that's neither here nor there. The gameplay is solid, the PvP is great, the crafting is surprisingly developed. Losing all of your loot in one fell swoop adds a challenge I haven't had to deal with since Ultima Online and I must say that I enjoy it. After all the things you own end up owning you. I get it.

But one thing really, really bothers me. If I kill something, even if it was a real struggle to kill it completely on my own anyone can come up and loot it. Sure I end up getting about half, but it just irks me that some people just hang at the periphery waiting to take the fruits of my labor. It's not a deal breaker and I'm sure I'll get over it soon, but it's offputting.

just kill them, and take your stuff, or if you prefer, report them in local and gangbang him over and over.

it is thieving and picketpocketing DarkFall style (means a skill not to find in skill list but exist in game - and of course comes with the skill "how to avoid it" too)

Yea ninja looting is a rpoblem, as well as kil stealing.

The best thing you can do, make sure that you have a high enlugh alignment that you kill anyone who steals your loot.

Wow...yet another reason why I won't be picking this game up....terrible.

With the alignment change today killing all the loot ninjas will turn me red nearly instantly. So like I figured, just have to ignore them the best I can and move on.

Or you can grow some testicles and deal with being red.  Kill those loot ninjas man.  Carry a few stam and health pots with you, so when you finish off a mob, pop the stam pot and start whooping on him.

Or you can just find a less populated mob spawn.

shill post we all know that darkfalls crafting is not only lame and shallow but one hell of a grind.

Im going to sell you a dream.

Valid opinion, but I really like the crafting so far. It has a nice Ultima Online feel to it. I believe the crafting is what's going to keep me subbed for some time.

  • APEistAPEist Member UncommonPosts: 409

My only problem with the crafting is the progression of most of the skills and the freaking 20 second timer for making some items.  Unnecessary time sink, anyone?  It's most ridiculous for cutting large amounts of timber into wood, IMO.

Stealing your loot don't make them attackable without penalty? That's horrid and a terrible idea.

EVE you can steal loot from wrecks, but it makes you totally attackable to the owner of the loot. You get no security penalty for killing someone who steals from you.

Stealing loot should flag you attackable without penalty (AT LEAST) to the one it's stolen from. They want a true PVP run game then let PVP justice have it's role.
