for those with interest in it, you do not need max faction to get it

requires -10k faction (but you start at 50k faction)

Thanks for posting about this. I have been working on getting this since I saw your thread. I currently have a carpet and the rhino will be a nice, little upgrade. Only problem is lavastorm is very active now and you really need to look over your shoulder while completing quests...
I like so many of the mounts in EQ2 but the varying mount speeds is somewhat strange to me.
I'd love to have and use some of the mounts for purely aesthetic purposes, but I know the slower mounts would bug me.
Are they any clear reasons why some mounts are 25,45,55,60 percent mounts?
the only reason I'm aware of is that if you were lower level - you would have access to lower speed mounts
at least from questing

the "fun mounts" that SKs and Paladins get at level 20 only have a 10% travel speed

This mount is only 45%. For example, its 10% slower than the TSO bear.
You only need to do 20 lvl 45-50 quests, it barely took me 2 hours as a 75 brig.
It looks good, the animation is great and I've buffed its speed up to 55%.

I got the rhino mount and it is awesome. It looks and sounds great and it is way better than the carpet. It is a bit of a pain doing all those quests but relatively easy.
Flaming Rhino also has additional buffs
- out of combat Health regen 60 per tick
- out of combat Power regen 60 per tick

I think this update kinda destroyed a lot of the mount progression. Right now the best mount in the game is the flaming carpet which takes 2-3 hours and a few plat to get. This really makes guild faction mounts which take a lot of work and cost a lot more kinda worthless. I think they need to rebalance mounts somewhat.
