So how am I to believe the real players are "correcting false" info.

Exactly, I was just posting it to spite the OP, because it's a more than likely chance he has not really played the game, and made this to just bash it.

Thanks for agreeing with me, that anything you say can be disregarded. Apparently everybody that does and does not play Darkfall lies all the time.

Oh, I figured I would add this "Yaaaaaaah! I got my account. Now lets see if the server can hold all the new people!". The OP is really excited to get a game he lies about playing.  This was posted 4/09/09 1:30:08 PM so this guy took a few days to make up this lie, just for you.

PVE? lmao there is no PVE in this game......its contend with 30 others to kill one goblin.......then hyper loot

LOL at you ! Try going out in the wild. There is no one camping mobs, only at the starter cities are there a lot of people after the same mob. If you move out you will find more goblin camps and only a few other players.

Seriously unless you have given a game a good go then please don't post your views otherwise they are just utterly irrelvant.

No I do not work for Adventurine I am just so glad that a game like Darkfall has come out finally.

You need to go and play WOW me thinks, Darkfall is too much for you.

I think people would rather play WoW than Darkfall Online. PvP in DF is made for people with no skill and has about the same excitement as plunging a toilet. Most of the DF fanbots think they are so hardcore playing such a watered down, wanna-be PvP game. Yes, yes, yes Darkfall Online has full loot........ who cares? Full loot does not make a person bad ass or does it make up for for a crap game. I did beta test DF for a long time and it is by the worst mmo EVER made. I am also a Shadowbane and a classic UO fan if that helps. I think that the fanbots need to wake up and realize that they are being owned like female dogs each time they give Tasos a dime, after all he does nothing but BS and has from the start.

I think that most of the fanbots that post here on mmorpg.com are workers of AV. Who in their right mind would defend a game that is far worse than any free to play grinder? Who in their right minds would defend a game run by a bullshit artsist who uses you as human toilet paper?

Well I decided to give DFO a shot (I was going to wait till a U.S. server opened up, but I didn't want to wait). I had no trouble finding/killing goblins, and I was right outside the noob city. I even had to run away a couple times when 3 or 4 of them came at me at once. Then I took a "little" exploration trip out of curiosity, and came across 3 city-like areas with minotaurs, orcs, and skeletons. Seemed like there was plenty of content to me (although not as much as most MMO's). Maybe people are just used to having mobs every 10ft.

Ill give DF a try when it stops sucking maybe in a year or so if its still running.

wtf why are you killing mobs? You realize you can skillup by fighting other players? try growing some **** and fighting a real thinking human being. Stop raping helpless mobs that exist purely to die anyway

Also, you can easily find camps that are less populated I did just fine.

There now, another person with a brain that was able to play this game. Is he an employee of Adventurine as well?

I played the game for 3 weeks before cancelling. At least I can say that Darkfall has made me much more appreciative of the decent MMOs already availiable.

Aventurine, you missed the goalposts by about <---------------------------------------------------------------------> this much.

Like most reasonable people, I'm reserving judgement on Darkfall 'til they release a free trial.

I've heard way too many negatives about the game to be willing to spend money on it (yet).

I was in the beta test and I didn't like it but its no where near as bad as some people make it out to be. It had hyped itself up to be a game with more going for it than open pvp with full loot etc and it simply didn't deliever. The AI spawns far from being dynamic and smart were static and sparse, there where no player controlled NPC's anything like what the website said there'd be and the implementation of the crafting and city building system was dissapointing. It attracted mainly only self proclaiming "hardcore pvpers" and maybe due to that, it delievered a game that was lacking in almost every area except the PVP concepts. Even the actual combat was nothing like it was hyped, I remember actually reading devs claiming it was like mount and blade and its far inferior.

So armor requires major time mining, crafting, making a good bow = same. I get all geared up. I'm loaded to the hilt with arrows, killer armor, potions, my guild is running to help our sister city from being taken over. It's gonna be a nice fight. 300 of them - 100 of us. I can't bind to the stone because like only 25 people can bind there. My "real" bindstone (as all my clanmates) is a 2 hour run/swim in real time, away. THE BATTLE BEGINS and I am soooooo jazzed, wait, what's this, Out of virtual address memory - CLIENT CRASH!!! I'm running a quad-processor 8GB of RAM - Windows Experience Index = 5.9.
I try to log back in - "You are already logged in". I try to log in again, oh look I'm DEAD, I've been looted of everything I own and FANTASTIC - A BONUS I'm back at my bindstone 2 rl hours away. I say to myself - Awww, just bad luck. Until the next major battle then ditto. Not just me, everyone in my clan - same experience. Woot - way to go Darkfail !!!
oh btw, with my quickness pushing 50 NO ONE should be able to catch me, wait what is this? a third party hack program guy running away from me at light speed, lovely. Looting scripts, speed hacks, transporting exploits, yeah, its got everything I love to see - NOT!!!
We killed a farmer, looted his near 1000 wood and stone. My clan member could barely move, asking us to come help him transport the goods... oh wait, another guy gets there first, kills him, loots the same burdensome loot and commences to outrun all of us, then outswim all of us, disappearing off the screen while being 900% over-burdened. Yeah, right...
You can have your Darkfail, I'll wait for a better experience, and save my money, thanks. Oh yeah, and thanks Darkfail for the 4 minutes per day you open up the store for people to actually jockey for the pleasure of having to pay for this crap.
Flame away - but you know what I'm talking about if you played the game for any reasonable amount of time. BTW no guild = dead. Better hope your city doesn't get destroyed like ours, because we are US based and in 4 hours our tier 3 city was demolished while we were in bed. Gotta love that - very expensive lesson on overpowered seige hammers.

I was going to say you: We told you so, a lot of people here were saying, save your money, wait until you can try for free. But I think you already learned your lesson. Im noy going to say it to you.

In most games you try to get your skills up a little bit with mobs before you actually start to PvP since you suck in any game from the start.  Otherwise you have to find a group of people that also suck and gank single persons, or die all the time for a long time.

And the thing anyways is they should either have more mobs or none at all. A few just make a lot of people camping in a single spot and everytime something pops it is like throwing a stone on a wasp nest.

First of all, to the guy who said killing mobs is useless...you are wrong.

There's a whole skill, Skinning, that is based entirely on skinning mobs (and not other players, although that would be a good idea). For example, if you skin a goblin, you can get a goblin tooth, or an eyeball...maybe other stuff. Those things can be used in crafting.

So yes, you can harvest mobs...with a good reason.

NOW, about the state of Darkfall.

Darkfall has two real problems that I can identify. One, as of this weekend (and latest patch), the game seems to be crashing a lot. I spent less time playing this week because of it. It was down Friday, nearly all day (U.S.A. time), I believe it was down a few hours on Saturday, Sunday, and is currently down as I speak.

Clearly, Darkfall must fix this our they will fail.

Secondly, cheaters/hackers. If the Darkfall staff needs to figure out how to clean the hackers out. While aggressive GMing is useful and works, there should also be some automatic checks. Through youtube, you can see "sticky", invisible, superjump, autoloot (which is actually just a macro/script, but still illegal), fighting will in a tree, fighting under the ground, and the malicious "Teleport" hacks.

This is just too much. There's no such thing as a fair fight, and furthermore, knowing that cheaters are running around makes you leary of anyone you encounter because you're wondering if they beat you fairly.

Tasos: Most of the people posting about cheating in Darkfall aren't even playing the game and are doing so to create an impression. The only way to really know what’s happening in the game is to ask a few players you know for a fact are playing how many times they’ve seen people using exploits since we started banning for it.

I am not trying to down the game..............it does it itself. Its full of cheaters who use loot cheats. and loot is the only way to gain money in early stages. If you never played the game and are thinking about it........save your money......or give it a try .......you will come to the same conclusion...............Wait for MO or wait for Linkrealms.......This is only my opinion......and we all know what opinions are like hehe.......but its TRUE!

Do what you will, but I would not wait on Mortal Online. After looking at the features, it doesn't sound like it will be any better. If you're going to wait for something, wait for a game with a decent chance of being fun.

he has the right to express his opinion of the game if he feels like warning other for the reason he quit.

The newb experience varies from race to race. This game is a fuck up on that part.

People recomend not to play x and y race because its full of assholes. so new players are reccomended to play races they probably dont like.

you prob picked a race reccomended to you by the fanbots its probably has less assholes ect than the other ones.

what if the op decdided to play a race that he found appealing to him  and it happened to be one of the races the fanboys scream  at new players to avoid.?

what stupid crap is that. If i go to any other game my race of choice has never been dependant on the community that goes with it. Sure he can find a good clan and all but its 1st impressions and thats what counts.

its stupid as shit that in order to get a great 1st impression you have to be x and y race and avoid a and b race.

Im going to sell you a dream.

I picked a few races - First I played Alfar.. I found the goblin areas were pretty spread out, and I really had no problem getting kills on goblins or getting the axes.  Seemed pretty easy. Then I picked the Elf race..  I quit it quickly. I don't like playing elves, and I was only looking for an area close to yssef. Then I moved to Dwarf.  I'm not a big fan of dwarfs.. but at least I don't have to look at the character the that much..
