I've never play FFXI before, hence I got a couple of question
1: What's the different between FF and AO.
2: How is the econmy in AO comare to FF
3: what about the grind factor?
Thanks for all your input.
Comments
1: In FFXI you have a single character you control, after level 10 you're almost always forced to find a party (except for a few jobs). In AO, you control upto 9 characters at a time, it is very much like the older FF games (FFXI is more like a standard MMO). In FFXI however your one character can switch to any job at anytime, just by visiting your mog house.
2: In FFXI, Gil (money) is hard to come by. You're almost always broke, and finding money to craft is a major grind. In AO there are several different ways to make good money, and you can start early on. I've never really had any problems getting money to buy whatever I needed.
3: The grind factor of both games is same and different at times. In FFXI you will spend most of your time in a group killing monster after monster. You will find some quests you can do for Reputation or Job quests, the campaigns are fun too. In AO it's almost strictly a quest grind until you get to around 80-90, then you will start to have gaps in your quests and have to start grinding monsters, or do PvP.
As much as I like AO, I still think that FFXI is better. I'm probably biased since FFXI is pretty much tied with Dark Age of Camelot as my favorite MMO ever.
Thanks Gravarg.
Which FF Character Are You?
i cannot comment yet cause i haven't played FFXI.. but i agree on this.. ^_^
I liked AO better myself....It was much easier to get into it and jsut alot about FFXI turned me away........The graphics were horrible and it felt like all I did was run around aimlessly all the time.......The community was not very helpful and I could never find a group so I gave up on FFXI fairly quick.......AO had a very helpful community and I thought it was a good game, especially for a free game.
