Really nice shots. I upgraded to DX10 recently and I am glad I did. The game is really stunning in DX10. Its hard to judge AoC and Lotro (the two most gorgeous games out there). AoC has better detail and just stunning scenary so if its a black and white answer then I would say AoC has better graphics. However LotRO has a very open feel and you have the impression that you are in a large free world. So even though LotRO doesn't have the detail AoC has I do prefer running around in it and exploring.
The fields of flowers in LotRO are my favourite screenies
Really nice pictures you have taken and you have allmost sucessed with hiding all those nasty low poly blocks, but I found one or two Once Turbine will give me the option to hide those blocks, in someway or another, I will resub once again. Not untill then.
What?

So if a game that is able to produce screen shots like those we see above has one or two low poly blocks (whatever that is?) then it's not worth subbing?
Given your avatar I find it hard to believe that you would think that.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
They look nice but I found that LoTR graphics only look good from a distance , once you get close to things they look horrible.
Uh... were you running on ultra with the high resolution client, because LOTRO has more fidelity in textures than most MMO's out right now.

Its not worth subbing for alot of reasons that I dont gonna list here, but one the reasons is these nasty blocks. Lotro can create really beautiful and lush landscapes, but when high poly mountains mixes up with low poly mountains it just look horrible. And I will resub for a month when they have fixed the graphic engine so I can see how the game feels and looks like. Not that I believe they ever will do that.

Um, i have no idea what you are talking about. I suspect, its your machine, because the only time i have ever seen what you are describing, is when i have a torrent, and a virus scan running in the background, some of the terrain gets "Stuck" in a lower resolution mode, or "pops", but like i said, i have only EVER seen this when i have a ton of things running, such as i said. other than that.....
Well, you can see my screen shots, and those are all while getting 100+ FPS (Except in heavy battles and large groups, then its around 60). This graphic engine is astounding, and highly optimized, for the visuals its produces on the rage of machines, its simply a marvel.

I have no idea what you are speaking of. I believe this is just a made-up reason why you chose NOT to play the game. If, and that's a big IF, this is the reason, what game do you play that has the graphics that stand-up to your standards.
As you can see the graphic is wonderfull and it looks even better when you see it in the game. But as you can see in the rleft corner there is a chunk of mountain with low resoultion. And when that chunk is a big part of the landscape view it becomes annoying. Becuse it dosent happen if my compture is doing alot of work or if Ive installed the game wrong, its how this game engine works.
Mrbloodworth: The problem Ive with lotro is that it mixes wonderfull texture work with some nasty chunks from the earlie years of this decade. I tried to find a picture that explained better what Ive been trying to say Couldnt find a really good one so the one I will link is not optimal. image.com.com/gamespot/images/2008/121/914860_20080501_790screen007.jpg As you can see the graphic is wonderfull and it looks even better when you see it in the game. Yes, that's what i thought you were talking about, but the distance at witch the terrain changes to its different LOD (This includes textures) is set in your options, and is tied to your systems specs.
I see what you are talking about on my girls laptop, but not my desktop. It part of how the engine works (they ALL do this) but like i said, it scales with your machine.

I just don't see what you are talking about when I play the game. The textures up-close and far-away are great on my machine. So I am clueless as to what you are speaking of.

I don't see any of this in my rig. if your framerate is set to low, it will blocky up a bit. Optimal graphics FPS is 70. Set for 70 and blockies should go away. anything over 70FPS your eyes can't see anyway, so why take up processor/grafix cycles for it?
Is it just me or someone else tired of same water, sky, water and sky screenhots? every screen looks the same, people capture almost same locations in every screenshot. How about some variety?
They look nice but I found that LoTR graphics only look good from a distance , once you get close to things they look horrible.
Uh... were you running on ultra with the high resolution client, because LOTRO has more fidelity in textures than most MMO's out right now.
Yes I was running the game every setting maxed on the high res cliet,I can run any game out right now every setting maxed. But to make the game run nice on a varity of machines they used alot of sprites and that looks teribble when you get up close to them Like the trees in your screen look great but go right up to them and they look bad. Alot of that in LoTR. Looks great from a distance not so good up close.
Really nice pictures you have taken and you have allmost sucessed with hiding all those nasty low poly blocks, but I found one or two Once Turbine will give me the option to hide those blocks, in someway or another, I will resub once again. Not untill then.

I've always believed lotro to be a stunningly beautiful game in dx9 or dx10.
Here is a game that looks amazing with everything maxed and doesn't require a high end pc to do so. Funcom should learn how to code from Turbine.
Really nice stuff.
