Can I get exp through PvP (like Warhammer Online scenarios)?

If not how much PvE must you do so you can spend full time PvPing?

Well I mean you can't go into the PVP area until level 25 for starters...

Reminds me of City of heroes in that way...

I really enjoy dueling?   I feel like the game has a lot of potential for some very interesting PVP situations, its a lot like DAOC in the "control keeps to get buffs" way.

Not sure if any of this was helpful..

Most pvp happens in the abyss (except for Rifts), you get to go to the abyss at lvl25 and yes you can spend all of your time playing in the abyss. You don't get exp by killing players but you do get Abyss Points, These points go towards player ranking (you get special skills for being one of the top pvp'ers and you can use your points to buy abyss gear.

They also implemented XP through PvP, but it isn't as excesive as War's.

I'm not sure how abyss pvp works out but I've been dueling for the past 30 min or so on my level 15 Gladiator and it's very fun. The fights have a nice amount of longevity to them which is quite a nice change from a few other games that I have played. My only worry about the pvp in Aion is that the potion cooldown is so short, which I'm assuming was mainly put in for pve because you can get in some pretty sticky situations and basically need the potion ever 30 seconds or so. But I can feel this being abused pretty bad in PvP.... although if you want to spend all of your gold on potions then go for it, play to win.

I'm really excited to see the large scale battles in the abyss though since thats usually where warrior classes shine. Who knows I will just have to wait and see in the North American release since I wont have enough time to get to abyss pvp level in beta.

Could you elaborate on this please?

Basically I want to do as little PvE as possible (like in WAR) and advance my character through PvP. Can I do that in Aion?

Is that ranking system like Warhammer Online where you get "Ranking-XP" so you dont have to be the top player to get the nicest PvP gear, or is it like WoW was in the begining where you need to be one of the weekly / monthly to players to get the best stuff?

You'll have to PvE still, the ammount of XP obtained from PvP is decent but irregular, you'd probably  be left behind if you attempted to level without PvEing at all.

You'll be able to purchase gear if you are a good pvper though (abyss gear has up to 6 manastones, while raid/crafted gear have up to 4, even tho I like the crafter armor bonuses better), and even obtain skills which can be used in the abyss, one of them transforms you into a monster that can take down parties by himself.
