Hello, I'm currently playing Atlantica, and I thought the combat system was something new for an MMO eh! however, the game needs a LOT of touching up before it is at the rating it's posted at. I would rate it in the high 7s. So here are my thoughts:
1: interface/ LOVE the "auto walk" to quest options. Very new and unique. As for the rest of the interface.... it's point and click. sure you can take a piss while your walking toon over to grind on a quest related enemy. What happens when you want to walk around with friends or just grind for fun? *point click* 24/7.
2: graphics/ I don't mind the graphics. but to have them rated so high? I wonder how that happened. are blind people playing? all in all, they are fine.
3: gameplay/ gameplay is nice cool some more unique features: mercinary system, combat system. The ability to hire and control people is a good one! especially with the type of combat it supports. I like the concept of the combat system, it actually takes more skill in most cases.
4: sound/ had to mute it. I'm sorry. I can't listen to that music and whats up with the combat sounds? who wants to listen to "I'll cut you with one stroke!" in a corny voice everytime you attack with a swordsman? It's just stuff like that that gets super annoying. the sound/music rating should be about a 3/10
all in all, it's about a 7.75/10 not quite 8.whatever it's at.

Atlantica is proof that the only thing a game needs in order to get a high rating is a company willing to stuff the ballot boxes to vote its own game high.
But yeah, your assessment on the game is about right.
1) Erm, you can move using the keyboard, too. Arrow keys at least. I use them all the time.
2) The graphics aren't rated that highly here, 8.5, I think. Which is probably high, but considering how ugly most other games are...it's not out of line. There's actually quite an amount of detail on character models, as well as animated hair on some NPCs. The terrain is ugly.
4) I actually like the voices. Better than most games where there's no noise at all made by characters when attacking.
Definitely turned off the music, though.

Good points, I wouldn't consider AO the best game out right now, but it's easily the best Free game. I've always gotten used to using the keyboard in MMOs, rarely do I ever use the mouse (one of the biggest turn offs I had about EVE). The grahics are rated rather high, when you compare them to games like Age of Conan (which should have at least a 9.5 easily, but for some reason doesn't...). However if you compare them to other free MMOs they have above average graphics.
I think alot of people give a bonus to this game because it's free to play. Where they are more critical about a game they have to pay for. I've said it before, but if I had complete control of the rankings I would put AO probably 4th behind DAoC, FFXI, and EQ. They're not up in the rankings just because they're "old"
The graphics rating might be based on the combat graphics, which are very nice, rather than the "adventure / walking around" graphics, which are just so-so?
i agree. one of the best free games ive ever played, if not the best...although they could really work on the music, it pisses me off...i'd usually turn off the background music then play my favorite tunes
I like the sounds/music, though it is a bit much after a while. I ususally keep the volume really low.
The graphics get pretty nice when you up the settings to 5 instead of the default 3. Five's too much for my laptop to handle when I'm moving though.
Did you SERIOUSLY just self rate a game .50 pts away from the rating the site gave it? Maybe people liked some things .50 pts more than you..

Riiiight. Because Ndoors has nothing better to do than create endless dummy accounts on some MMO site that only a tiny fraction of it's audience will ever visit, right? You're just upset because an Asian F2P game is in the #1 spot (which means nothing, really).
Atlantica Online is the highest rated game here because it's, wait for it..., actually a fucking good game. Especially for a F2P one. It's fun, and it's gameplay is very different from the typical MMO.
Your right there... atlantica had some unique features that differs from the other game.. but it needs a lot of improvements for me... specially the KJ system... well still i'm enjoying the game right now.

lol! i sense violent reactions from atlantica fans ^_^ good point...what's a .5 difference in ranking right?i mean if people voted for it than way then deal with it :P
this game is really goog to me.. but it needs a lot of improvement too but i think their working it out
for those of you who took time to read my rating and noticed it's .5 away, you might also try to notice the fact that my rating takes it from the #1 to like the # 20th rated game. so .5? not a big difference. ranking Big difference. Thats why its only .5 otherwise it would be lower. I rated it because of the games it would be ranked with.
