The wrathgaurd and myself have been dueling on and off the past couple days and he has beaten me pretty badly a few of those times. However, the more we fought, the better my strategy became... STAY THE F#@% AWAY FROM HIM.
I thought these duels were pretty amazing, especially the first. I don't know, watching will just never be as fun as doing and these just felt freaking insane at the time.

Sorry dude, but after your 30th jump or so I closed the video.
Ya its a bad habit, hopefully the dev's put jumping linked to your physique or a stamina bar connected to jumping only.... I don't know, if that guy touches me once I'm dead though, like in the first fight. Revenge is just stupidly overpowered.
Nice video brone, didnt realize it was you until about halfway through :P. 5 stars here. Great fight.
Revenge isnt overpowered, its bugged--currently it hits once per combo point in addition to upping damage (only supposed to hit once).
hey thx Diend, I saw your comment much appreciated! BTW I got another one coming this time vs and AM and in my opinion even more epic of a fight.
Thanks for posting the video.
Good work and nice moves.
Nice to show people what you can do and how much fun playing a game without a dice is.
I didn't even made it to the 30th jump on my part.
Beside the annoying jumping, overall combat looked very awkward in general. The movement of the character does not really seem to be "connected" to the ground, but as if they were rather sliding on a higher layer. Not shure how to describe it properly.
Too bad since i was starting to get interested in TCoS.
I got to jump number 5 and then couldnt take any more of it.
Also what is it with people ruining videos by putting music over them. When did this daft trend start? It seems that virtually everyone who makes a video of the game they are playing feels the need to stick some angsty teen rock music over the top of it. Do they actually think its an improvement? Is it some kind of attempt at making some meaningless statement about the music they listen too even though they must know that no-one cares? Its the same with every gameplay video I look at and I always have to turn the volume down to reduce the annoyance value.
Just leave the videos as they are with the natural sounds of combat and any in-game music that may or may not be there. In fact this is especially the case for TCoS as the ambient sound effects and in-game music are fantastic and are easily much better than any of the crap that gets pasted over it.
neonwire, in many cases (this one in my opinion one of them) that the music can go with the game. As long as it's not a type of music who's fanbase is restricted to only a very limited group of people IMO its fine to put music over a game. You can always mute it. Plus, recording sound is much more resource-intensive then just recording video, so it's nice to have some sort of sound.
Movement is very connected to the grond in this game, it's just that the way the mosh pit is shaped (a concave bowl) and the amount of jumping that Brone did, plus his high physique (movement speed) made it seem like he was floating a lot of the time. Jumping is not that bad, it actually increases your predictability of movement, as you can't stop a jump after you start.
As I said prior, great video IMO. Keep it up Brone.
What I really like about the roles, is that nothing is hardcoded and you build can go many directions. PvP is as fun as PvE and sometimes you doing both in one battle..
Yeah, that video was nice, but the jumping is a tad too much. UG!
Despite still standing by my previous comment, I will admit that Spellborn has a lot of "Ambience". The world sucks you in right from the get-go.
Sadly, this fact was nullified by people bunnyhopping all over the place.
But hey, enough of that. Don't mean to hijack your movie topic .
In my second video theres a lot less jumping once I start to melee and adapt to a new strategy different from the warrior duels.

don't need to give reasons why I put music to my videos but I will anyway.
1) Music and PVP videos go hand and hand with each other.
2) Was on vent because I am playing an MMORPG aren't I?
3) Stereo Mix was disabled because the nasty feedback it gives while using vent. So no sound was recorded.
Nice second video. Love it.
Looks to me like he was too reliant on charge getting him within melee range. Someone tell him that bow attacks proc the burst effect from charge and he'll be all over you.
Also, terrorstrike ffs. The revenge combo + the haunt effect should obliterate anyone who gets in melee range for even a second.
I have to admit the OP was alot less hostile toward those on here who pointed out his lame hopping then he was on the Official Forums.
I wasn't Hostile on any forum and I didn't even jump very much on the second fight.
The backflip was really sweet. It looks like it also puts you in some sort of evasive mode?
The bunny hoping is distracting beyond words. It just ruins the atmosphere of pvp games. Also not big fan of combat where one guy kites another around. It just takes all the challenge out of a combat. No offense intended as you were doing an admiral job kiting in a small area. However given the skills your character has vs his, that combat should have the same exact result every time unless you lag or get sloppy.
The game does look promising though. Was that circle area you were in surrounded by barriers? Could you walk out at any time or were you locked in there until the combat was over?
The Wrathguard gets teleport skills later on where he can do a scorpion style get over here to get enemies in range, so kiting will be less of an issue (although apparently the skills broken right now...lol).
The little arena theyre in has no barriers and you can walk out at anytime. Its a little ffa duelling area in the starter zone just for fun. Theres also a respawn point right next to it.
Good to hear that the other guys gets some skills to counter kiting. A little give and take on both sides should make the pvp pretty good (minus the jumping )
The little pvp arena is a good idea also.
Ya in the first fight against the Wrathguard I put a backflip in slow mo because it totally saved my ass.
