    Are you telling us your life? :)

    My favorit RPG is Secret of Mana... I loved to play it with friends on my SNES! It's really rare to have a multiplayer-option in good singleplayer-games! In particular in RPGs!

    Man, I loved Chrono Trigger. Hands-down the best RPG ever.

    I even played it through again a couple of years ago on an emulator. ::::08::

    The Mana series are probably some of the best classic RPG's you can find...

    Legend of Mana for PSone (although not all out "classic") still whomps 99% of the rpg's out there...

    the Breath of Fire series are pretty good too...

    anyways... ya Chrono Trigger was pretty fun too but i think i overplayed it... i remember loving it at some point but now i just cant stand it T_T;;

    Ya really. Honestly though, there is no way any sane person could think a linear console RPG (chrono trigger is good, but nothing special) could compare it to the granddaddy of CRPGs. Ultima started it all (aside from DnD of course), with one of the best stories ever to grace a game, spanning a large and well known series. And very few RPGs have come close to how in depth and intereactive they were. Also the Avatars companions had so much life to them, it was always entertaining to hear conversations between them.

    Unless Shobu is just an idiot and doesn't realise I was talking about Ultima as the single player series, not UO, but frankly it wouldn't surprise me if he didnt.

    The Baldurs Gate games (Not the consoles, dark alliance etc)

    Loved those games.  A tear rolls down me cheek everytime I think about all the fun I had in them. *sniff*

    Chrono Cross is my favorite RPG, if not my favorite game of all time. Mind you I haven't played Trigger. Cross just had so much atmosphere, the music was fantastic, the graphics, while blocky, did a really good job of immersing you into the setting. The story had alot of twists and turns as well. And it had the "Pokemon factor" going for it, getting all of the people to join your party (I still remember how much Glenn kicked ass). It had a good dose of philosophy as well, it's the game that got me into the subject. I'll definitely have to play Trigger at some point. I've heard the next in the series will be called Chrono Break, though that was some amount of years ago, and I haven't heard anything of it since.

    No question, Fallout 1 and 2 were the best ever. They still to this day allowed for the most important thing in a RPG (something today's rpg like KOTOR Lack)... freedom to do whatever, whenever, wherever I like or do nothing at all.

    How many ever tried beating fallout 2 without ever firing a shot ? Or kill everything in every single town lol, good times..

    What about the Dragon Warrior series? Suikoden? Star Ocean? (I havn't played the latest yet.)

    Btw: I gave up on Ultima when the battery in my Ultima: Exodus (NES) died for the 3rd time. It kinda left a sour taste in my mouth.
