Scientists warned that the increase in big-eaters means more food production — a major cause of CO2 gas emissions warming the planet.
Overweight people are also more likely to drive, adding to environmental damage.

Heard that this morning. It's kinda funny and a little true if your a fan of global warming.

Kind of ironic. If fat people really are causing global warming, they're going to be the first ones who fry like bacon when it gets too hot.
I heard a good joke by David Letterman a few years ago. Forgive me if you are overweight, I don't treat the obese any differently than anyone else. But I just thought this was funny.
On one of his shows in the summer, he said, "Today in New York it was so hot...fat people were making their own gravy." Both funny and gross at the sam time.
This is how ridiculous this global warming scare is getting. Where does it end? Are babies next? Pooping so much?
I read that article and cracked up. Of course overweight people do not contribute to "Global Warming".

Of course I know its ridiculous to think overweight people are causing global warming. In fact, fat bottom girls make the rockin world go round.

Even if people were able to hold the farts in, we still have to face the fact that breathing is causing climate change. And until people are willing to take responsibility for this activity, and temper their CO2 output, we'll have to force them to comply.
Consider this; If everyone in Australia were to stop breathing, global CO2 emissions would be cut by 3%. This could be the difference between saving Earth and drowning in a sea of fire. We must push forward these reforms before it is too late.

I believe it. I believe it's a very very very small part of it not worth even talking about, but it does play a part.
I don't see how you can deny that they cause food processors to use more energy, burn more fuels, and release more emmisions.

The fat people cost more fuel to transport, more emissions and more fuels spent overall. They also take more water to wash themselves, more food to feed themselves, more electricity to power their giant fridges and more fabric for their clothes.
They might not cause "global warming", but they do waste a lot.

You've got to consider your sources before you go calling something silly.

Fat or not fat you are more or less forced to drive in the US unless you live in a major city where everything is available within a few blocks. Most european countries you can get around with a bicycle without having to worry about being run over since they have special raised bicycle paths. Not to mention even the smaller cities in places like the UK has a supermarket in even the smallest residential areas. You have to get far out on the countryside before a car is needed. Same goes for a lot of european countries.
Actually when you think about it the logistics to keep a fat person alive and to keep a normal person alive are disproportional.
Even when you look at the most basic stuff like transport of goods, sewage maintainance, and similar. Then you can take it further with things like medical assistance, or whatever other hidden cost you could think of.

Ok its not much but combining say the extra co2 from all fat people does make for a portion of overall greenhouse gas production per year.
All of which does contribute to the global Warming theory that an increase in greenhouse gasses increases the greenhouse effect.

Fat people have more body mass, and heat the house up more - more air-conditioning. Their fridge is full of food, causing the fridge to work harder to keep itself cool - more electricity.

On a hot day a fat person will get hotter faster due to the extra 'insulation' he or she has so would be more likely to rely more on air conditioning to stay cool on hot days than a skinny person.
And yea bigger fridges do use up more energy.

The Sun is the blame for Global Warming, it's natural for the Earths Temp to rise and fall.
I'm still laughing. If fat people truly give off that much more heat, I think we just discovered the answer to our foreign dependency on oil. Just put a large population of fatties in a room and have them do jumping jacks - heat for the whole summer.
And bigger fridges do not necessarily mean more energy consumption - i've seen some large energy star fridges that use less electricity than smaller fridges that are not energy star certified. Look at the yellow energy consumption tag in the fridge.
