in Final Fantasy XI
I have been reading the post that says that if you don't play for 3 months, then you lose your account, but I called Play Online/Square Enix help line and they said that if you keep paying your account, you still have your account even if you don't play for a year.  Is this true or did the guy lie to me.

    Well, if you keep paying you cna have it for how long you want. But if you disable the ID and don't reactivate it in 3 months your character gets deleted.

    But when I looked into the thread with "the guy that had to buy a new one" I think that he closed his whole PlayOnline account, and that made his CD unusable cause you can only use you PlayOnline Cd key to create one account on playonline, but then you can ahve more handlers inside that account.

    I had a feeling he didn't pay his account, but he made it seem like he paid and they deleted it.

    He because he didn't mention it. But there is no way they would delete the account if he paid. I think he closed his PlayOnline ID and didnt log in. I don't know how to close a playonline ID but it makes sense if he did.

    IF he only closed his  FFXI ID then there would be no need to buy a enw copy. I closed my ID without having to buy a new copy.

    Either he closed his PlayONnline ID wich you don't do if you just don't want to pay FF. You play your PlayONline account if he doesn't want to play anymore, or this guy made some lies

    Yea, its somethign they do which I don't agree with, If you stop paying on your account due to whatever reaosn, you have 90 days to reactiveate and start paying again. If you don't all account information and CD-Keys are considered invalid and are deleted. As long as the account is current on its billing cycle, you could not play for years and still have your account and characters. I think it was a plan to try to keep user databases down of inactive accounts from those who played, but didn't like it and such. They could at least let the account be reactivated at any time, but deleting the characters would be fine I would think..

    Yea, if you cancel your whole account. But on my US FFXI I closed some FFXI IDs and after 90 the game still workd but I could not reactive those characters
