I was wondering how long Anet will continue not to give any information about thier mythic new game. But i'm starting to wonder if the game will ever live. What you guys think? I think that the guys of Anet didn't measure well their words when they blew this rumor. And after all i think is possible this to become the biggest lie ever!

There are bits and pieces here and there. You can't rush these things. Every day they spend in the making makes it better and better. You can't rush these things. Be patient. We're very lucky they have all the time they need.

I imagine once Aion is online in the US and Europe that you'll see information on GW2.
When you've already got a successful game out with a business model that depends upon constantly making new content to get people to buy the new content, and you can use the revenue from that to produce new content (whether in the same game or another new game), it doesn't make a bit of sense to stop making new content. If a company that has released a number of successful single player games (which is pretty close to the business model that Guild Wars uses) announces that they're working on another but don't know when it will be released, is that not credible? It's not like ArenaNet is some no-name start-up that has never actually made anything before.
Guild Wars 2 ison the NC Soft release schedule AFTER Aion for the obvious reason of not ruining Aions release with a title that they know will do well, and Guild wars 2 WILL do well, as people are asking for info constantly

Why do you think Aion will do well, i bet you that it will have less success than WAR.
well you just lost your bet. already 1mil+ subs in china alone, where it just went live, its been out in korea for a bit as well. so its already more successful than WAR.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.

FAIL its got more subs in just 1 country alone then any mmos released lately so gg kthxbye
The game is still in work, they bought some new graphics tools this autumn to implement effects from Divx 10 and so on.
NCsoft have the game on launch Q4 2010 but if that is Arena nets offiscial date or just NCsofts wishful thinking is hard to tell, one thing is certain: it will release when it's finnished, not a day earlier.
It is very quite around the game, Arenanet is usually holding a low profile but it is still in development. That it takes it time is not that shocking, Arenanet is a small company, its strenght is their programmers (and that french guy that makes the art). Oh, yeah.. And the fact that Jeff Strain is god (he made games like Diablo and Warcraft 3 before).
I mean in the West, or the USA market, to be more specific.
the western MMO market means sweet FA in the true MMO market... we're truly 10 or maybe even 15years behind them on MMO's as the only truly successful ones here have been WoW and GW
We're 10 - 15 years behind the Asias? You mean to tell me that in just under a decade the western game market will be inundated with millions of completely grindy copycat clone with a level cap Over Nine Thouuuuuuusand! so that inept preteens can use insane stat growth to mask a complete lack of skill?
Almost makes me glad that the world's ending in 2012.
Joking aside, it's not a matter of sophistication, it's a matter of taste. The Asians favor heavily social games that are reasonably easy to play. Grinding various colored lizard men though a few dozen levels is only a means to an end.
The western audience seems to be more geared towards gameplay, with the social aspect being a mechanism for extending the fun to be had.
As far as how Aion will do in the west, it's too early to tell. Disgruntled ex WoWers seem to hail this thing as the next big MMo, people who never liked WoW to begin with beg to differ.
I can't help but feel that if Aion *does* gain a footing in the western market, NCSoft will not be willing to jeapordize it's dominance and do a very half assed job of marketing GW2 once it's ready.

We're already there, look at all the adverts on this site alone
Aion is a piece of crap that's for sure! But what think that make attention to me is how pathetic ncsoft company is become. This morning i saw the new customization feature in the Guild Wars website which you have to pay for it . Now really this is PATHETIC. They try to squeeze an already dead game with such a crap???? Low.
The worst think is that Anet has potential but they are under the wing of those koreans wich won't do em any good.
GW still have quite a few players.
X-fire is not reliable in any ways but that GW been the second largest MMO after Wow (and just before Eve) for a long time there at least tells us that the game is far from dead yet.
But I aint to happy that A-net is under NC soft either, they could get a better publisher, but at least they are not EA.

If you are the type of player playing Aion I will definitely not touch that game with a 10 foot pole, then again, it does seem like the type of game to attract pre-teens. I mean, "ooh pretty colors.. and you can FLY?!" Its like a shiny lure to a bunch of middle school children. If its anything like all the other Korean MMOs, it will be all flash and no substance. Of course it has a million players in China, this is exactly the type of game to attract those people.
-Computer specs no one cares about: check.
-MMOs played no one cares about: check.
-Xfire stats no one cares about: check.
-Signature no one cares about: check.
------------------------------------------------------------
-Narcissism: check.
I imagine how this people think.
Look man we have to be original, we must make a whole new game but there is a standards that we must consider. Look ... we can't make mounts man, it's too obvious, we'll make wings, yaaaau cool ha. We can even steal this idea from "perfect world" mmo, it's nobody know game so nobody will notice.
Then in what we are good? Skill and key combinations, awesome. If we have interest we may add mortal combat fatalities at the end. But the most important we have graphics (computer abilities are not under consideration, lag too, it's not important).
We'll put tufty looking world, gay looking male models and sexy looking chicks and we are done - exellent, brand new game.
Btw .. we don't have to change the basic mechanics, somebody else before us made it not bad, well make it the same actually. Even better, because we are smart we'll make some of the stuff worse so nobody blame us in stealing ideas. Genius - the new MMMO big hit franchise!
Ncsoft kind a thing
Expect GW2 Info. to be released some time next spring/summer. Once AION releases in the west and that's all taken care of then they'll start pouring out all the goodies.
So just hang in there a bit.
As soon as the Aion train leaves town we will see more solid and frequent Guild Wars 2 info.
... this is exactly the type of game to attract those people.
Take off your hood for a little bit with the racism codewords.
Aion, from what I've seen, is not a flash-in-the-pan MMO that a lot of companies release. The game hasn't just garnered numbers, but, unlike some mmos(AoC, I'm talking about you), they have maintained their subs since release in the Asian market.
That said, NC Soft doesn't want to hurt the sales of Aion in the US by putting out a flood of info about GW2. Guild Wars has a good reputation, and is second only to WoW in the American market. They just came out with a bunch of updates for GW, and it's the only MMO other than WoW that is friendly to the casual player, a player other MMOs have overlooked at their peril.
It took them 5 years to get GW right. Why do they want to rush GW2 just to get it out on a deadline?
I believe GW2 was pushed back after the developers saw Blizzard's WoTLK x-pac (Just like Warhammer's developers pushed back Warhammer after Lich King info flooded out)
This could be a good thing. Maybe Anet will rip some ideas off of WoTLK. Cause it Rocked, and is Blizzard best X-pac.
After seeing some of the recent updates to Guild Wars,,,,, I wouldn't be surprised if Anet decides to rip WoW's recent activities off.
You can already see the similarities between WoW's recent additions, and Guild Wars current update.
GW2 is pretty much finished but the release is delayed to give Aion a chance to launch.
NCSoft didn't want GW2 competing with Aion.
Interesting. Are you a GW2 dev? Aion's got all the ingredients to be a major hyperfail. I'm as interested in trying it as anyone else but it's still a 3 year old game. There are just way too many MMOs releasing soon that are a lot fresher. Aion and GW are so different from each other. Bliz should be the one worrying at this point.
BTW, what does it take to get GW2 listed as a MMO on this site anyway?
Uh.
According to what I've heard (not that I'm very interested in WoW in the first place), you need to raid in WoW to get the best gear.
So why is WoW that casual friendly ?!? Thats a bit surprising news to me. I think GW does a lot better than WoW in respect to casual friendly, and I can think of a lot of games which are about as casual friendly as WoW (all theses socalled "WoW clones", for a start).

WoW is casual-friendly (once you achieve Loremaster by completing all the quests) if you like fishing, cooking, jousting -- and if you hate decent looking/quality gear.
If I remember correctly you need evidence of a game.
